One of the arguments back then about Gore was "he was too smart to be President." Guess he proved them right. After all we got the dummy, and as Dr. Phil would say "So, how's that working out for you." Bush is going to leave office with an failed war, a rapidly crashing economy, massive levels of debt, a decimated military (in terms of materials, troops and officers), a national debt that is a mountain of money piled up to the sun, a hollowed out infrastructure of manufacturing, a record number of scandals (51 and counting) possible war crimes charges, possible crimes against humanity charges, a federal government that can even do the things it once did well, Oh I could go on, but we all know what's gone down the last 7 years.
On the plus side Bush has pretty much destroyed the Republican Party.
On the other hand, Gore has been celebrated at home, won a Nobel Prize for Peace, and spends his time divided between giving lectures on a subject he loves and handing out awards at the Grammys and Academy Awards shows. Tough life.
However, Gore did not protest that decision in re Gore v. Bush, when he should have, as he should have. That was wrong then, and wrong now - and its a big, big wrong.
