Ok, so I took my nieces and nephew to the Seattle Children's Theater production of Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe. I can't believe how many times I teared up during the second half of the production. Once I'm one HRT are these emotions going to be even stronger?

Interesting...one of my concerns about starting HRT is getting emotional at work.  I am in HR so that would probably not be a good thing...LOL

Emotional response after HRT seems to vary widely.  My emotions haven't changed much at all.  But even before HRT they were pretty strong and some types of movies brought tears my whole life.  Scary movies make me jump, much to my kids amusement, LOL.  Frankly, I've never understood how people can watch those movies and not be frightened.

I have noticed being a whole lot more emotional even without HRT. Maybe a shift in the right direction and me starting to think more female is the cause for this.

OMG, Poltergeist and Friday the 13th (original) gave me nightmares for weeks...of course I could not say anything to anyone!  Damn masculine expectations!

When I was 5 I saw the original 1963 BW movie, The Haunting.  I was so scared I threw up twice during the movie and then had nightmares for over two years.  To this day I will not allow myself to see that again.  Parts of it are still in my mind.

I think a lot of one's response to HRT, emotionally speaking, is going to be contextual.  If you're someone who's bottled up her emotions, being on HRT -- and actually, just transitioning in general -- is going to open them up.  On the other hand, if they already run free, I don't think HRT is going to amplify them very much.

I know that I got very emotional starting transition, which was months before I started HRT.  Because I was finally acknowledging the truth of myself.  HRT helped me to clarify my emotions and express them more freely, if anything else.
What you look forward to has already come, but you do not recognize it.
