Hi guys, I'm new to the site! So I'm a 22 year old trans guy with a long mane of hair, and I've been on T for about 3 years. Over the past few years, I've noticed that my previously thick hair has thinned out a lot (like no bald spots or anything other than a bit of a receded hairline, but all over thinning, also it sheds a ton), and presumably it's from T. Lately this has been a huge source of anxiety for me as my hair has always been my pride and joy, it's super important to me, and at this point I wouldn't mind going off T if it meant saving my hair as the thinning will just get worse over time. I'm wondering, would going off T restore any of the thickness I used to have or would it simply prevent any further hair loss? And is there anyone here who's gone off T who wouldn't mind sharing their experience in terms of what effects stayed and what ones were reversed (not just with hair but in general?). Are there any confirmed health risks to it?

Going off T won't make your hair grow back, but it would stop additional loss.

There are no health risks to going off T, assuming you still have ovaries. If you've had your ovaries removed, you might experience some discomfort due to not having a primary sex hormone, but I can't say for sure what your experience would be.

In general, what you could expect from going off T:

- Voice would stay as is
- Downstairs growth would stay as is
- No new facial or body hair, but what has already filled in would continue to grow
- Periods would come back
- Fat would redistribute

Not a comprehensive list, but a starting point.
