Hi everyone,
I guess I should have posted here first to introduce myself. I am go by Paula at the current time as I am still trying to find myself on so many levels. I just turned 51 a couple days ago but like so many, I have known something was not right since about 5 or 6. I grew up in a small town with very conservative views and these things were just not discussed.
I did the whole sports thing in high school, even became a Phys Ed teacher and coach. Once thing I made sure I did as a coach was to NOT judge any of my kids. It worked too because 25 years later once of my kids whom I suspected was gay, found me on social media and thanked me for not judging him all those years ago. He has turned out to be a wonderful adult and in many ways an inspiration to me!
I later joined the military and served for a number of years before I got out. I am now in a field where I hope I can influence and support our community.
Over the years I did the typical buy, purge, buy, purge...you all know what I am talking about. A few month ago I finally had had enough and one summer evening while floating in the pool and enjoying a few adult beverages, I worked up the nerve to tell my wife of 20 years. She of course was shocked but has been very supportive. I have since found a support group and a wonderful GT!! I even worked up the nerve to tell my sister-in-law this past week and will go visit her in the coming weeks. She is VERY LGBTQ friendly and is also very supportive. She even said she is looking forward to having another sister!! That brought a tear to my eye.
Well, this is getting long and I already feel welcomed here! I have already looked at the TOS and all recommended links and I look forward to getting to know both you and myself in the journey!!
