Hey, I was wondering how long after SRS you had to wait before consuming alcohol? This is not something important, just that I've been talking with a friend about having a small party thing for us after surgery and it just hit me that I probably shouldn't drink for a while. Anyone know the answer to this?

I'd say wait till the wounds are healed properly before you do. Of course a little bit (1 drink or less) here and there might be ok (2-3 weeks after) but it might hinder your recovery if you over consume and you might regret it in the long run.

Here's some of the reasons why it is bad idea before you are healed properly.

Thanks, though I am aware why it's a bad idea. I'm just curious how long you'd typically have to wait for it to be ok. I think at 3 months you can have sex? So should be fine then at least I think?

Yes, in theory if you are able to have intercourse/dilate without pain and everything is healed down there then you should be good to go.

Gonna suuuck.. I dont drink alcohol often at all, but I'm going to have recently moved in with roommate, if the waiting list for surgery goes as I want.. But it probably wont so it wont be an issue. Just assuming more intoxicants in the immediate time after moving in together.
Anyway, we have decided to have a no alcohol party for after SRS, she's gonna plan a whole evening of movies and other nice stuff for me :D

Lol yeah and you will be pretty preoccupied with dilation sessions anyway for the first month at least. So something relaxing as movie and popcorn might help.
