Hi all, is anyone aware of a bioidentical pellet implant Dr. in western Washington State?  The closest I seem to find is Marion Darling MD by the Portland, OR area.  She uses the SottoPelle trademark type pellets.  Myself I am about 100 miles north of Seattle.  Portland is doable it just seems odd I am not getting any search results for the Seattle area.  I already have a very fine and responsible transgender aware physician close to me, so going through all of the beginning hoops would not be necessary.  I've been injecting for 28 months, not that it is any problem at all, it is just that the idea of not needing to think about it for months on end seems attractive, especially with my busy lifestyle.  Thanks in advance.   Dani

If you can find a compounding pharmacist they might be able to sort something out with your endo.

Pellet is convenient if your body agrees with them.

Thanks Luna, well first off I do not have an endo...I have a very good trans aware lady MD.  My problem is the administering of the pellets, that is what I cannot find.  This proceedure is one that requires a fair amount of experience to place the pellets correctly.  The hormone pellet physicians here only do cis women and cis male patients.

It's not really that difficult a procedure.  Incision about 5mm deep around the upper buttocks on the side, insert pellet using the carrier, and then close the surgical wound with a single stitch or surgical tape and a big bandaid over it for a week. 

Working out the correct dosage though may be another matter altogether.

I have an implant and the procedure was pretty much as Iuna described. Mine was done with a local anaesthetic and what looked like some kind of triggered insertion tool...never felt a thing...sewed me up, had my partner remove stich. Due again for replacement in about 3 months, having my levels checked next week.

Wow, this sounds like a good alternative to taking pills or shots.  Please let us know how you are doing with this technique.

My levels came back last week (she did tell me)at the upper end of the normal range, I have experienced an evening out of my emotions...don't worry they didn't go anywhere...I just seem to be on a more even keel. So far I have no reason to say anything but good things. I can only vouch for my experience which has been more than satisfactory. My pointy B cups and I are very happy with the results after only 6months on HRT 4 months at full Transition dose and 3 months with the implant.

I don't think they are difficult to put in, you just need a doctor who's willing to do it.

I don't know how specific I can get so I'll say this, Google Sottopelle Seattle or go to the Sottopelle site and use the Find a Doctor link. If Seattle is okay, you'll find at least one person there - probably more - who can do this.

I get my implants from Dr. Barbara Mack in Tacoma. She's very trans friendly but her office is not good at returning voice messages. You need to actually talk to a human to get an appointment scheduled. Her office is closed on Mondays. I highly recommend that if you call and get an answering machine, just hang up and keep calling back until you get a human.

If you can afford it (about $400 per implant) implants are the way to go for sure!
