Hi everyone, have any of you done an FTM top surgery? My brother is a trans and he behaves completely as a boy except his breasts. He is 18 years old and he always feels insecure about his appearance. He now asked us for a surgery and we could understand how bad he feels with the large breasts. So we were looking for Drs. who do Double Incision Mastectomy. I have some doubts regarding that:
   1. Will they be ready to do the surgery as he is just 18 y/o? (I read a blog which explains that patients younger than 18 years old can undergo FTM surgery with parental consent - http://www.ftmtopsurgery.ca/blog/ftm-surgery/right-age-undergo-ftm-top-surgery/ )
   2. I have found on the web that the scar is the main disadvantage of this procedure. If any of you have undergone this, can you please share your experience?

Any suggestions would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Most surgeons will want a referral from a therapist in general saying that you're a good candidate for the surgery and that it would be an appropriate treatment for gender dysphoria. I think all of them would want it for someone so young.

There are plenty of top surgery results in the Top Surgery Results and Recovery thread. Mine are there. I had a good experience.
