Hi Elizabeth. No problem. What happens, is they glue that dead squirrel down on your head with a waterproof type glue. Now....if you have any hair left on your head....you wont after a period because your scalp and the follicles can't breath or die from being pulled out by the roots and suffocated in glue. So you effectively kill off whatever's left on your head piecemeal 1/4 inch around at a time. The glue strip you see is placed to cover the fringe of where most of your hair starts on the horseshoe. This is done so when it quits sticking to your flesh, it still hangs on to the hair. What a damned mess! This is why you have to go in every 4-6 weeks to have it removed and put back on. It gets loose and pulls on your hair as it grows out leaving your scalp inflamed, itchy and sore. An incredibly frustrating and unpleasant feeling. It also begins to look like what it is, sometime before you go in for maintenance. In essence, a hairpiece that doesn't match your hair. Now I imagine if you have the money and wanted to go in for weekly maintenance, this could mitigate some of the problems. That would make it about a 500.00 a month proposition. Add to that that I would suggest the piece itself would need a replacement every 90 days. No idea what that would cost now.....10 years ago? 500.00 dollars. Add to all this that you can't wash underneath it. So it starts to get oily and greasy and your scalp develops sores much like acne. It will take on a smell I don't really care for, even if you're fastidious. It is, in essence, a wig, that you simply can't remove. No win here...none. Do I sound adamant? If I can save you women the horror, money and sadness then I've accomplished my mission. Lisa
