Had anybody done GCS after an orchiectomy?

I'm not yet ready for the big surgery but want to desperately get rid of my balls for many reasons but I'm a bit reluctant due to potential issues with a later GCS.

Several members have discussed this and had the Orchiectomy. The caution is you should contact your GCS surgeon for instruction about incision placement. If the incisions are in the wrong location, you may have skin without sufficient circulation and can't be used in the surgery. You might then need a graft or the colon may need to be use resulting in more costs and complications.

My orchiectomy was so well done that I couldn't even see a scar. Unfortunately I seemed to have a bit of adhesions or something in there causing me pain, so I went to a local urologist who proceeded to do a "corrective" surgery in which he made two huge jagged incisions down both sides of my scrotum. Needless to say, that scarring was awful. Fortunately I am having a minimal-depth vaginoplasty and my surgeons says he will be able to work around and remove the scarring, but if I had been wanting SRS with Suporn or something I am sure I would be turned down. So I don't think the orchiectomy itself would have made a difference, but be sure you find somebody like my first surgeon who can make a tiny little central incision, and not somebody like my second surgeon who's going to hack two large scars into each side.

If planning orchiectomy long before GRS, keep in mind that scrotal skin is highly likely to shrink away. When it's gone, they cannot use it for creating a vagina... scar, or no scar.

I already have scars at my scrotum caused by the surgery to get my undescended testicles down when I was a kid.

I guess I will have to get this verified by a SRS surgeon before I  do anything

I had an orchiectomy in July with Dr Sutin. He examined me again this month when I was in for my FFS and he said the tissue is 'lovely and soft' without much shrinkage. These days I'm told that the shrinkage idea is not so vital, partly because stretching techniques in the GRS op are so good. Having said that, I probably wouldn't leave it much more than 2 years between the two?

The orchie is one of the best decisions of my life. In one fell swoop you wipe out the testosterone and call a halt to all those nasty anti-androgens drugs. I'm told you can also keep estrogen intake low but my GiC currently think differently.

Post-op, despite T levels being quite low, I need high doses of estrogen to get decent results. YMMV, as always.
