Tuck and Roll, all day long ...

I have a practical question about hygenic practices, as an M2F. How to practice good hygiene down in the nether regions.

I seriously doubt that I would ever seriously consider gender affirmation surgery. I am probably too old, and not real attracted to the prospect of pain, discomfort and risks. On the other hand, I feel uncomfortable about my male genitalia flopping around down there. So, I have tried various methods to concel and smooth my features.

So, I am tucking, taping, stretching, flattening, etc. etc. In the meantime, Sometimes, I will spend 8-10-12-14+ hours in this mannder. I am concerned about perspiration, urine, abrasion, irritation, infections, etc.

Are there any time-tested techniques for doing this in a healthy and safe fashion? The best way to keep things clean and germ free. Best tapes to avoid long-term irritation.

I apologize for these nitty-gritty questions, but, I really don't want to re-invent the wheel here.
TNX for any detailed discussion - generalities are kind of useless.

thank you

Hi Melissa,
All the methods carry some risk of problems, although in the main they are uncomfortable at worst. Keep your hygiene up, try to avoid 'too tight' as it increases abrasion risk and fungal issues (deeply unpleasant). Perspiration can be managed using anti-perspirant, and those with colloidal silver also help keep fungus at bay. Wear cotton.

It is possible to get a urinary tract infection if you're not careful, and they need to be dealt with by a doctor, as the infection can spread to your kidneys (bad news)..

Risks, these days, with this type of surgery seem, in general, to be pretty minimal as this surgery is much more commonly practiced. For me, personally, the pain and discomfort were relatively low, even in the beginning. I'm sure the pain killers I was taking helped though. But, really, it was no big deal, at least to me and totally worth it. I was also quite young at the time of the surgery so that could have helped too.

I never tucked but instead use a panty girdle to control the masses. I am not sure how well it would look with today's leggings and skinny jeans but with the looser fitting jeans and skirts, it worked well. I never had any issues keeping things clean or with UTIs and as erections sometimes happened, things could be placed where they were comfortable without showing.

As for the age limit on surgery, it depends on you health. If the surgical risk is reasonable, you should be able to receive surgery if you desire it. If you health is marginal, you should consider a surgeon who works in a hospital that is better able to deal with surgical complications. People are receiving surgery in their 70s so age alone isn't a limiting factor.

I've often times, come across transgendered women, past the age of 60 yrs old, who had surgery, sometimes even 2-3 interventions all at once! If your health is good, if the doctor is skilled and experienced, risks should be kept to a minimum.
