So I have started my transition and have been for almost 90 days. I decided that the time has come to come out to my family. I am scared about how they are going to react. Over the years they have become more religious. I hope that it will go well. I think that they will give me the we still love you but it is wrong. So everyone wish me well.

Good luck - this is one of the hardest steps.

Please let us know how it goes.

I hope it all goes well. If they say insensitive things, don't take it to heart.  :-*

Lilith, just stay strong.  You know what you need to do for yourself, and they don't.  Let them know, let them know that you are still yourself, just stronger and healthier for your transition.  They are entitled to their own opinions, of course, but they are not entitled to their own facts, and you know for a fact what is helping you.

I also hope it all goes well.  Family can be the darndest thing to deal with, though.

Good luck!

Earth my body, water my blood, air my breath and fire my spirit.

My personal transition path included medical changes.  The path others take may require no medical intervention, or different care.  We each find our own path. I provide these dates for the curious.

Congratulations on a huge hurdle! Remember to give your family time to digest and grasp what is happening, it is "normal" for us but can be a blindside to others.

This is the start of true freedom for you, as odd as it sounds I hope you savor the experience.

Mia speaks wisely.  You've had years to think about this
  They will have had seconds.

So I wanted to give an update. After a tearful and emotional discussion my family is being completely supportful of me. It was beyond even my wildest expectations. They love me and my mother even called me her daughter.

Congratulations, Lilith.  Setting down that burden has to be a huge relief.  And acceptance is such a wonderful thing!
