I just want to say hi to you all   My name is Kristin  and  I have had bad experiences in the past with this internet thing I have come to learn that you have to be cairfull on this thing  but I am glad I found this board  and it seams to be verry well supervised and doesnt tollerate any BS  most boards I have seen have just been a BS session board   and this is not what is needed in our couminity  I have found that it is hard enough on most of us already having to take these steps  and we need the suport of each other to find who we realy are and were we fit in this life   we went through enough while we were growing up that we dont need any more than we have to tolerate. we even have to tolerate the BS even while we are and after we have made the changes in our lives that nature had goofed up on. it is sad that some of us have to bear the responsibility of the lives that we have hurt trying to be something or someone that we arent  and I am so glad to find that there is a board like this
I like so many others am making the changes in my life at such a late stage in my life  but I as others feel better late than never  it has come the time to quit kidding myself as to who I realy am  I am one of the lucky ones that has someone to suport me and as well as encourage me to follow my dreams and become the person I have always wanted to be    it hasnt been easy for me   I always worry about what other will do or think   when I should be worried as to how I feel about who I am
I have come to learn I have to love myself first  and be secure with who I am before I can expect others to respect me   there will always be others that will never respect me but I have come to learn that those people have their own fears that they are covering   I always make a joke of it they are jellous     every one has their own deamons that they need to faice   just as I have to faice mine
in my time this was something that many of you I am shure can relate  we were told we were sick and we were treated by the medical couminity in the wrong way  I am so jellious of the world now  I can only wish that they had the knolage then as they have now and I would have made the changes sooner and wouldnt have done the damages to myself as I also did to other lives  we all have our regets that we have to live with and it is not a easy cross to bear  but with places like this it is nice to know that there is a place to vent and share and get the suport that we all need   I know that there are others out there that forgot what they went through in these steps  and we need to rember what it was like for us and we need to find the patience to help others before we are short with them  I just want to say thanks to all for reconising who we are and being there to suport eace other

You are quite right, that the web is a mess.  It reminds me of walking through a dog-walking area blindfolded and barefoot.

Susan's is a good place in which chatter is not unduly restricted nor is it allowed to run rampant, stepping on those it should help.  People in here are recognized for their contributions to the group as a whole and booted-out if they stir stuff too often.

I don't know that anyone starts being their true self too late in life.  I started at 51.

                  `I have got to say that I liked the one about the dog walking aera blindfolded LOL watch out for the land mines    life is like that  it is bad enough that we are expected to walk on egg shells as is that we dont offend some one   I just think how they need to look in the mirror and see who realy is offending who  I have been going out and live full time as a woman that I realy am   yes I am kinda homely  but I am at least me the real me and every time that I hear the coments I kinda laugh to my self
but at the same time it does hurt much that the same that a obease woman goes through I rtealy feel for them and the shame that society puts them through  I am a little heavy but six months ago I wore a size 24  and now I am in a 16 that is getting loose in the last month I swore I will not buy any more clothes untill I am skinny again   thank you all for being there

thank you all  as every one knows it does feel nice to be welcomed   and I do thank each and every one of you  for their input   the reality of the negitivity that I have been dealing with all my life has been verry damaging    but sence I have been going to theripy things have changed and are still changing for the positive   I look for things that let me know that I am not alone in this that there are others that have simular prolbems    it is verry hard for me because I dont live were this is as excepted as it is in other places I live in the heartland  or the bible belt of the US as most around here think  I dont live in a bigger city were it can be excepted or just ignored because they are two bussy in their own lives  I live in a farming couminity and they froun on this   every one knows every one  and as is known knows everyones buisness
but I do have a nice place verry secluded in the country ( I'm a country girl at heart)  and I have always liked my privicy  expecialy now   so when I get home that it allows me peace and peace of mind to sort out the days activity and the negitivy that I had to endure as a child growing up   but that is another story and I wont bore you all with it  I'm shure you all have heard it all befor in some sort or another
I will be moving around and looking at other posts to get the suport that I am not alone in this
funny I am just about at SRS and I think that even when that happens that there will be nightmaires in that stage also    but enough for now thank you all  keep looking at the glass as half full as aposed as half empty

Welcome to Susan's. Hun I do pray that you will find what you are looking for in this board. Most of the folks here are generally good people and they are smart too. But it does have its struggles every now and again. but mostly the people here are nice,  Boy don't I know about the goings on on other boards. Since I started out doing research on the web 8 years ago I joined up with 62 other groups where for the most part they sit silent and empty today. I have one group still that is again struggling to survive. I also still am in touch with a couple of those folks on those boards that I still message with by Email. But other then that for the most part I am in this group now. We'll just make yourself at home, I will be looking forward to chatting with you.
