Today I came out to my personal Doctor. She had no idea this would be our topic of discussion. She was very understanding. Little by little it is getting easier to discuss. I've always been introverted so to get me to openly admit anything is difficult.  I feel so much better. lighter. Keeping this inside has been so heavy. What I am learning that I wish my Conservative friends would understand. I am not a pervert and I have no more control over my desires than I do with what color my eyes are. I can only cover up like wearing colored contact lenses, or men's clothing (so boring). From early on I had dreams of being a girl. I hung out with the girls mostly through grade school. When Susie Duncan had her period in six grade I didn't understand why I didn't have one too. I didn't understand why it was ok for a girl to look pretty but not for a boy. I prayed for boobs. My heart condition requires me to take Spiro which has given me quite noticeable breasts. No I didn't say jugs. I learned from my first wife, a little goes a long way in proportion. So here I am with boobs and no sex drive. Spiro took care of that too.

Telling your story and admit your truth over and over sometimes is tiring but usually it is great practice and another relief. I find it easier every time I say it aloud. I too have been telling all the medical people in my life lately. It is amazing how much of a non-issue it has seemed to be to them.

Congrats on your milestone! On Apr 25th I will 'go under' & have my final surgery. It has been a long almost years. Around Christmas my GF Vikki & I were at the mall & I was kind of daydreaming looking at all of the wedding dresses in the window. All of a sudden a girl walks up to me & says "I see you got home safe!" I looked at her & didn't really recognize her until Vikki said "Oh Sasha Hi" Vikki then reminded me that this was the girl about 2 & 1/2 years ago that Vikki HAD me buy all of her clothes, including underwear. Vikki then tricked me by trying on the girl's schoolgirl uniform.
Vikki then had me walk home over 3 miles away! Sasha was standing w/ a guy & told us that she was getting married & was wondering if Vikki & I would mind being Bridesmaids Alternates? She said that everything would be paid for. Vikki said yes. the wedding is mid May. After they left, Vikki told me that Sasha didn't spill the beans to her fiancé that I used to be a guy. I am kind of nervous still going out as a girl. I know everyone knows about Bridget Yvonne & not Jim, but I am still nervous. Vikki & I looked at the dresses & they do look nice. Almost prom like! But Sasha will be the star of her day.

I'm so happy you posted this Dawn! That was my same experience. I've been on heart meds since mid-20's. I'm closing in on Medicare age now. Came out to my primary physician last August. Her first response was, "Great, you've been on ### but if you want, I can change you over to Spiro. We need to watch things but this may help." My response - Yea! and Yes!. Long story short, I had to stop Spiro back in November for other non-medical reasons. Went back to my old meds. But started Spiro again today. No E.

Since you have been on Spiro for heart, it sounds like a long time, anything I should be aware of? Thanks again for sharing your experience.

Spiro is a diuretic in the heart disease arsonal. Relatively small dose but over 25 years has had a cumulative effect. What my kids used to call "man boobs".  Since beginning HRT I have increased the Spiro dosage and along with estrogen my "man boobs" have become rounder, fuller, and the nipples have shown some growth and are definitely more sensitive, other than that, having to pee all the time is somewhat of a pain but I live in Washington which is much more tolerant than North Carolina so peeing is not a life threatening undertaking.
