Ok I really want to buy a sport bra. But I don't know how I will manage to do that!

Backstory first.
I'm 23 years old, and I'm trans alright. I'm not on hormones yet. I want to buy a sport bra. that's it.. lol  ;D

I don't know exactly how to do it. if I am to buy online, I don't know the measure. The only way to do it correctly is going to the shop and have a "taste" of it first before buying. '-'
It will be really awkward doing it, so any tips for me? I'm so new in this! lol

And let's talk about how a sport bra must feel in the body.
Is it to fit, like, tight?
Does is stretch? Like, does it looks small but in fact on the body it stretch, or not?
How well will it be on my body? As I have a masculine bust, does it going to fit alright? I'm thinking that the breast is the thing that hold it in place. So if I have no breast at all it will go up all the way. (dysphoria alert)

Please everyone help! I already seen one that I want! lol

You might look at Hanes and see if what you want is available there. If so, you will find measurement charts that will help you determine your size.

Hi Luisa,

Sports bras are quite stretchy, it is difficult to determine size just by looking. In my experience a little small isn't too much of a problem but it may feel uncomfortable after a whole day. Many have padding that is in a pocket in the bra. You could put a rice filled stocking into the pockets to simulate breasts. It is easy to alter the size from barely noticable to full on breasts just by altering the amount of rice. I used to put silicon forms into the pockets and the bra would hold them in place really well. I now use mastectomy bras for the front opening(arthritic shoulders) but these can be quite expensive compared to sports bras. The most important measurement is the band size which is the measurement around your chest just below your pecs. This is the size you need in inches. If you just want the feel without any sign of breasts an A cup should be ideal, a bigger cup size if you want to fill it with something. I have bought many bras online and most of them fit OK because I was careful with my measurements.

Very best of luck

Nah... looks hard and complicated.. lol
I don't really want to simulate breast for now. I just want to buy it because I always found it really cute.

I created this topic because I was afraid to go to the store and have to experiment it there. But it's ok now...
I'll take my courage and do it anyway. The only thing that's bothering me is that the online stores has lot more variety than the physical store around here. So maybe I still want to figure my number....

I'll have some tests here and see what I get.
Thank's everyone.

Hoping this will give you some idea of what size you might need. Sports bras are supposed to fit tight to keep your boobs from bobbling around when you work out. The body is 5'10" 146 pounds and I have 34B boobs. My Primary (he's a guy) wears mens medium shirts. I wear misses mediums and juniors large tops and a large sports bra.

Ok, I did some measures and this is what I got.

My bust is 88~89cm, (here in my country we use centimeters) which puts me to the  small or medium size. I know that the size of a clothe changes from cloth to cloth, even when they are the same class of size. So I still need to go there and see for myself anyway.
Argh.... I'm so anxious about it. Buying panties is one thing, but actually ask to experiment women's clothes is way different.

Advice, anyone?

That's 35 inches (2.54 cm equals 1 inch).
Alot depends on your overbust and underbust (measurement under your armpits and your boobs). My underbust is 33" (84cm), bust is 36" (92cm) and overbust is 35 (88cm). Sports bras are misses sized so I'm pretty sure you would need at least a large. They're made out of spandex so you could wiggle into an extra small if you were tying to win a bet. but you'd look like sausage and it would be really really uncomfortable!

Remember if you have a long torso like I do, you have to have long enough adjustable shoulder straps. Not so easy to find, but you can by longer straps on Amazon and use the current attachment clip already on the bra.

Most sports bras don't come with clips or adjustable straps, but that's a good point!

With all these comments, I'm 100% sure that I don't want to buy it from online stores... lol

The type of sport bra I want to buy is something like this: (This link is from a shop from here, Brazil.) <<http://www.cea.com.br/top-ace-azul-marinho-407134-azul_marinho/p>>

I wish I could upload images here so I could explain more about the size stuffs.. but anyway.

YAY! I did it!
Thanks everyone!

I was at the shop and just looked at the size and guessed it. When I was back home I found tight to put and I was kinda disappointed.
BUT... I ran into google to help and then I saw this. ()

Success!  :icon_dance:
I was putting it wrong, and getting it out wrong too. The sport bra fit very nice in my body. And I'm so happy with this.

I wish I could upload an image of myself but I don't have any camera... (right on the 21st century. Go figure) plus I can't uppload images yet...
Now I can do some dance workout even happily. lol
