Hey guys. I'm 6 months on t and have been physically transitioning in front of everyone's face but haven't socially transitioned or even came out to but a handful of people.  The reason for this is I'm plain scared.  I have a job I love and am afraid of losing it and am afraid of losing my husband.  He has been a champ so far with dealing with physical changes but I'm afraid if I socially transition and come out to everyone it will push him over the edge.

A social transition isn't even a huge deal to me but I'm at the point where people are noticing my changes more and I can't really continue to shrug people's questions off anymore.  Things are starting to get awkward now.

Just wondering if anyone else has socially transitioned after the physical and how did people go about it, or can people give me advice?

I have the same plan. Basically I'm just planning on not bringing it up until someone else does. Doubt it will work but it seems less tedious than "coming out" which just seems like a hassle

I'm on the slow track also. Two and a half months in and the voice change is highly noticable, not sure how long i can play off the "losing my voice" card, and i am having to shave every few days to keep the facial hair down. I'm playing it by ear because I a not sure about the response at work but based on the speed T is working on me I may have to address sooner than later

It seems like a lot of work and when I try to make a "coming out" plan I get flooded with anxiety but I'm kind of getting tired of the awkward moments like when I went to the store the other day. A family friend works there. Her work mate sired me and the family friend just stared at me like "are you going to correct her or not?"  Or when my son's school called me and asked to speak with Miss Johnson and there was a long pause when I said that's me because my voice sounds more like a Mr Johnson now.

Seems like your changes are happening faster than mine.  I guess I'm just going to let the chips fall where they may.  I have one friend at work that I trust entirely and will mostly likely come out to her within the next few weeks then make my next moves based on her reaction.

I get called sir all the time so I don't think many people would bat an eye at me not correcting it. I already tell my friends I don't correct people because it doesn't bother me and it would make that person feel embarrassed or upset that they "offended me" or something. So now everyone is awkward over something I truly don't care about. So my friends know I won't correct people even if they call me Tyler (I get called Tyler all the time on the phone. My names Heather so I'm really confused how they hear that lol)

I'm one year HRT and also had some FFS stuff done and I still haven't socially transitioned. Occasionally I male fail and it's exciting. But I'm super patient, I am fine with taking it slow and not getting ahead of myself.

Same here. I have no need to hide from family/friends but I'm not going to inform the peripheral people - the neighbors, landlords, casual acquaintances made locally that aren't exactly friends. They WILL notice my voice soon, many of them already have and I'm not going to hide it, but I'm not going to explain myself to them either.
