Alabama Republicans want to introduce actual real-life bathroom police

"A Funny Or Die skit previously joked about bathroom police... but now they might actual become real
A Republican-backed bill in Alabama would force public institutions to hire real-life bathroom police to guard mixed-use bathrooms.
Alabama Senator Phil Williams wasted no time after the new legislative session began this week, swiftly introducing anti-LGBT bill SB1. "

The first time some idiot mistakes a cisgender female for a man and demands proof of gender,  all hell is going to break loose and that will be the end of bathroom cops.

That segment of America is trying to remake us in the image of Saudi Arabia, complete with religious police.  I despise what they are doing to America in their efforts to destroy the Constitution.

It is better to be hated for what you are than to be loved for what you are not.

Love is not obedience, conformity, or submission. It is a counterfeit love that is contingent upon authority, punishment, or reward. True love is respect and admiration, compassion and kindness, freely given by a healthy, unafraid human being....  - Dan Barker

Talk about a dead end job. Do they pass out hand towels? Will these be men or women? Will they be observing from a hole in the wall? Hand guns, automatic weapons? No problem. The 10 transwomen in the state? Let's put a cop in every restroom.

So basically this law is saying for unisex  or family bathrooms designed for multiple people/families, an attendant must be preset at all times. If also says that only women can be in the women's room and men in the men's room, but doesn't stipulate how gender is defined, so no birth certificate requirement yet, but even if it's by driver's license or ID, Alabama requires surgery to change one's license. Of course there is the passport route which hopefully doesn't get changed by the Trump administration.

Maybe they'll use the Trump tactic and just grab Women by the crotch as an identifying mechanism? It is a brave new world after all.

I don't know.  It doesn't do much for privacy, but maybe having a guard at or in the bathroom does potentially mitigate the possibility of violence.

Unless of course you're trans, or just 'look trans', in which case it increases the potential for violence.

Instead of improving the lives of the people they serve through better education, jobs, real safety, and health, the regressives try this sort of thing with their time and resources. It would actually be comedic in its ridiculousness if it wasn't so hurtful to so many people.

The thing that makes me most angry about this bathroom football is back in the day, when I would go to sporting events, the women's bathroom line would get quite long. Well...the brave and smart amongst the females would waltz into the men's room and announce, "I ain't waiting in those lines boys...when you gotta go, you gotta go!" I saw this occur quite often and all to guffaws, harrumps and every other noise that can come from a human that you can possibly imagine. I never saw one of those women act as if they were in a precarious situation. The obvious double standard here is ridiculous. I'm quite sure some men were absolutely chagrined by these women's behavior, but never, ever, never did I read about it in the paper or see one of the women harassed by security or note any legislation to halt the practice. This all seems to be an answer to a question that wasn't asked for a problem that doesn't exist. America....you gotta love it!
