I'm having vaginoplasty with Dr. McGinn on February 7th. I'm putting together my packing list now. So far, my packing list is pretty ordinary. I have regular shower supplies and clothes on my list, as well as a few things to entertain me during the recovery. The only thing out of the ordinary so far about my packing plans is that I expect to be spending most of my trip in bed, so I am bringing less outdoor clothes, and more pajamas.

For anyone who has had this kind of surgery in the past, was there anything unusual about your packing list? Was there anything you wished you had packed that you wouldn't ordinarily take with you on a trip?

I wished I had with me a timer (waterproof) of some sort. Handy for timing your sitz bath and dilation sessions. I didn't have waterproof phone like I do today that makes it so much easier.

I had my surgery with Dr. Rumer about 2 moths ago.

Large soft very warm bath robe **(An absolute MUST have at this time of year. They keep the place on the cool side)
5 pajama tops and bottoms. **(Used 4 tops and one of the bottoms.)
Slippers **(An absolute MUST have at this time of year. They keep the place on the cool side)
Extra pillow **(used this between my legs when sleeping and just laying around. Helps ease the pain)
Donut cushion. **(What can I say. You NEED this. Don't let it out of your site!)
2 tops, 1 skirt and 1 pair of leggings. **(Used one long top and a pair of loose fitting leggings for the trip home)

Might want to bring one of those portable camping chairs as there is nothing to sit on except the Futon and bed.

For passing the time I had my cell phone, Kindle tablet and laptop.

Don't know about Dr McGinn but Dr Rumer did not want anything to get wet until the day I went home, and even then only showers, that was 6 days after surgery.

Make sure you have chucks. They are the absorbent pads with a plastic back. I went to Costco and purchased large dog pee pads.

Dr. Mcginn will ask you to start eating 3000 calories a day at your office visit after GCS.

Get a case of surgi lube from Amazon.

Buy your #3 &#4 dilators from Soul Source. They give you #1 and #2.

Get some loose comfortable sweats.
