Well at work last week I find out they might want to change the dress code a bit more. This means Id have to dress even closer to more guyish like men dress shoes and all that. I can see that kind of thing completely send me straight into a very very bad depression there and make me completely unable to do anything there. It really terrifies me!! It's bad enough that Ive had to wear a collared shirt having to fit this image of a guy but whats next?? To do what they are thinking would make me feel even I dont know if the word is degreding but it's the only thing I can think of.

I have threatened to quit recently over many things to where some were wanting to know what they can do to make me stay. With that, Im hoping I have a good chance to explain what this would do to me and maybe they would listen. I hate to talk about it but I have no choice. Knowing they want me to stay makes me think they would be open minded and try to understand.

I am really  sorry to hear that you are dealing with this at work. I apologize if this is not very helpful as I do not know the exact circumstances and what is being required in the dress code, however, maybe it would help to accessorize? I wonder if they would allow you to wear nail Polish or jewelry with the required Outfit? Perhaps they would allow a compromise to help with the dysphoria. In any case, I wish you the best of luck, and I hope that things only get better!!

All i could say is yes, the gender uniforms suck. I dont recall having many gendered clothing via work. I think my stint as a manager at McDonalds when i was 20, that uniform MAY have been male (at a time i was transitioning to female). But working all over in kitchensand Costco were there really wasnt any offical uniform but rather your own clothing provided it meet standards (yes i wore girl clothing or at the very least nutural) and my current lovely job as a baker in a grocery store there has not been any gendered uniform (or if so they seem identical to the females anyway). Kinda suprised there is still gendered uniform for jobs these days.

Besides that true to see like the other poster said about jewlery and maybe if you cant do those things try foundation and masquarea (cant spell that worth....) I could be partially helpful perhaps

Are there workplace protections in your state for gender identity? If there are, consider disclosing to your employer that you are trans and planning on transitioning. While it wouldn't completely take away a dress code, I'm sure they'd be a little more understanding about needing to modify it while you're presenting androgynously or pre-everything.
