Trying to help

Hello, I'm friend's with a transgender person, who is very important to me, And I'm trying to help them by staying positive. Are there any suggestions how to stay positive, when everything I seem to say is wrong?

It's important to remember hat they've always been the gender they now identify with; just took them time to realise. Plus asking them what pronouns they'd like to use which I find the most important. If it seems like they're making an effort to use the right ones I understand but if it keeps happening then I think it's on purpose. Also important to remember they're still the same person; just now you know they happen to be trans but that isn't their personality. Just treat them how you've always had and it should be fine.
They/them pronouns preferred.

Could you make this more specified with the reason you're thinking everything you say is wrong?
So i can get a clear understanding of what could be happening without it there could be many reasons and i would be able to give a clear response. And i'd like to answer your question as accurate as possible to give you clear advice on what may help. I also don't want to make assumptions about the situation or the reasoning as to why this person seems to be upset.

Welcome to Susan's Place. Try a conversation opener like how are you doing, how did your day go or what's on your mine and then try to listen as much as possible. When we go through the transition we have a lot of issues to deal with and sometimes we just need somebody to listen. You may pick up clues from the vent that will help you know what to say.
