I still want to see some of the other issues we face in Maryland get some play in this session. While O'Malley used his pen to write in gender protection for state workers, we still need to get gender language into our ENDA law.
And while a marriage law will give rights to same-sex couples who want to get married, it will not give any rights to those of us who personally don't believe in marriage for ourselves. It's great to see insurance coverage will expand to protect domestic partners, but we need more. My family gets rights only with civil unions. This is what "the good Rev" says about my family:
