I'm having problems with my gic in Nottingham, they don't listen to me and even seems to have mixed my records up .

I've been out for 5 years kinda, in 2012 I've came out and was half time until 2015 at which point I went full time and began my transition journey. After 5 years with the love and support of my family, friends and support worker I feel ready for my sex reassignment surgery. Even my support worker agrees that I've earn the right to have surgery after being full time fpr 2 years.

Each time I talk to my gic they shut the idea down and last time they told me we will talk about it after 6 more session which are 3 to 4 months apart. This means it will another year and a half untill they will hear me out and that is only a discussion.
Yet I've completed real life experience and lost family and friends, discriminated many times and even got married to my wonderful Josie in my beautiful gold/white dress. Apparently none of this is counted in their eyes

They waste my time and make appointments with me in which i have to travel across country just for them to ask me if I'm ok, its not only a long trip is highly expensive trip that causes us to struggle to pay bills and eat.
They have slandered doctor Webberleys name and my support workers in appointments, they ignor my phone calls and never replie to my complaints or my support workers complants.

Thanks to my support worker she has helped me gathed some statments from past support workers and a statement from herself inorder for me to take the clinic to court.
I'm already taking one of the nhs trust to court already for discrimination in hospital from Staff and i know from personal experience that this is very time lengthy process i really don't want the hassle of it.

I was wondering what should I do , we have thought of secertly recording my next appointment to catch the mistreatment or should I threaten them with legal action.
My solicitor who I'm waiting on a response from tomorrow , shes happy to help sue them but im worried if i talk about my complaint to the gic they will stop my treatment for threating court action.

5 years of being out and being passed around should be more then enough.

From what you've posted I guess you want SRS on the NHS and can't afford pay for it yourself? If you were able to go to Thailand you could easily work around the GIC.

I wouldn't make a recording in case it backfires and you get in serious trouble for it. I would definitely make a complaint. The GIC can't stop treatment as it's part of the NHS. The amount of backlash from the media, public, politicians etc would be extraordinary if they stopped treatment all together.

Maybe all try to get referred to a different GIC; it doesn't have to be the one closest to you.
They/them pronouns preferred.

Me my wife could not afford srs , it has tooken 2 years just for breast surgery in which we have greatly struggled to meet and put alot of stress on us. On top of this we still want to do face surgery to fix a few features that sounds like a pipe dream knowing how much we struggled to save for breast surgery.
The clinic wont even write me a letter for breast surgery as required..
I don't think it's a cost problem as they wont even give me a letter for breast surgery which I'm doing privatly out my pocket, it is simply the lady hates me and you can see it in her eyes..

The wait for this gic was outrageous and we struggle to meet each appointments as it's an expensive trip and takes far to long to reach, we set out around 8am and dont make it home until around 10 at night. They threaten me saying if i can't make the appointment I'll be cut off, and have to be re referred to the client, after 2 rearranged appointments I will be cut off. They say jump and i have to say how high they find this quite funny.

My self and my partner have made 2 complants.
A complant has also been made from my gp doctor.
A complaint has also has been made by 3 of my support workers
Nottingham clinic has not replied to a single one.

We have written to ccp and then they passed on to nhs England, nhs England has passed me on to ombudsman and the last step would be solicitor in which she is fully aware of. We are waiting for ombudsman response.
I have thought about writing a letter to department of health.

You can't get in trouble for its legal to record for personal use , the only issue is when shared with 3rd party aka court you need permission from the primary source. The way i see it is to catch them out and then if they have nothing to hide they will allow court to hear it.

After so many complaints we are ready for court but it's really the last step i wish to take.
