"The state of Virginia has done away with a bill similar to North Carolina's which would limit transgender bathroom use.
The Republican-controlled panel at the General Assembly, did away with the bill without debate. "

Similar story, from a domestic source:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/virginia-transgender-bathroom-bill-dispatched-quickly/2017/01/19/87179250-de85-11e6-8902-610fe486791c_story.html

BTW, the delegate who proposed the bill, Bob Marshall, frothed pretty much the way you would expect.  I won't bother to link to those stories, though, since your imagination can probably do a better job than he could.

Also BTW: it seems Mr. Marshall is, ah, quite a character, even beyond this one bill.  He has a Wikipedia page all to himself, and the section on his career in the Va. House of Delegates is rather -- entertaining -- if you have a certain sense of humor.

As a Virginian, I can tell you Bob Marshall is a huge joke and it doesn't surprise me that he couldn't garner the support for another trash bill.

Ah Virginia, I have a love/hate relationship with the place. I lived there for many years, and was born there however, so I follow the new of course. There have been many concerning bills as of late, last year there was one related to preventing changes on Birth Certificates which really worried me. I am glad this one, as the last ones have been killed, Virginia is a much more accepting place than the politics would have you believe (at least, NoVA is.)
