Today marks the end of my second week taking oral estradiol and for the last 3-4 days Ive had near crippling abdominal pain, bloating, cramps, of and on. Ive read this can be a potential side effect. I'm losing my mind over this. I'm calling my doctor as soon as the office opens, hopefully just for some peace of mind, but, if my body is having a problem with estradiol what other options are there for me? Even injectables are estradiol with the same side effects. I really doubt patches are an option for me due to my work being intensely physical.

Does this mean my trip stops here?!

It could be something else in the pills apart from the estrogen. There also gel you could try, or other types of oral.

I *THINK* Ive ruled out my estradiol AND cyproterone as the culprit. I broke up my medication over the last couple days, yesterday I took my estradiol by itself when I first woke up, instead of all of my meds at once before bed. Stomach was on the mend and generally fine. Today I took the estradiol and cyproterone in the morning. Same results. No discomfort yet. Stomach seems mostly fine. Only things left to check are my finasteride and progesterone.

Such a bloody relief >.<

*update*
Doctors appt went well, he's convinced my stomach problems *aren't* HRT related after examining me, my levels and liver activity are all fine and normal as per my last blood test, we've done another blood test today just for clarity of mind and I have a requisition form for an abdominal ultrasound (IF required)

What a relief..! >.<

Sounds like good news, even if the cause hasn't been identified yet.

Keep on keeping on!  They'll find it soon.
