Not Rocket Science

Please pardon the rather trivial nature of this message.  In comparison to the important and substantive posts that are common fare in this forum, my message seems a bit silly.

For the life of me I can't master the simple task of fastening my bra.  I generally struggle for several minutes with repeated attempts before finally turning the bra around, fastening the bra in front of me, and then turning it around to its proper position.  This defeat always leaves me with the feeling that I am a fraud.  This isn't rocket science.  How can such a basic operation that millions of women do every day be so daunting for the likes of me?  Help!

Well, if it's any consolation, that's how my wife fastens hers.

I fasten mine behind my back.  I bring the two ends in front of me so that I can see the hooks.  I grab the fabric near the hooks and look to see exactly how far the hooks are from my fingers.  You want them as close as you can get them without interfering with the ability of the hook to do its thing, but the important thing is to see how close the hooks are to your fingers.  This is important for bringing them together behind your back and judging then they line up.  Then I reach the ends behind me and just hook them.

The trick is getting a hold of the bra ends and first up ensure when you stretch around the back everything is straight... don't try and fasten it yet...next this is you want to take a hold of the bra ends in the same position as your hands were but this time ensuring whilst holding it that your finger is straight along the edge of the first row of hooks and grasp the other side again this time making sure your straight finger is lined up with the second row of the bra eyes/hooks...close the gap and hook the single row into the second row using the finger as a guide as to where each hook is...after a bit of practice you will get two hooks and then finally 3 all at once or fairly quickly otherwise hook the first and do the rest one at a time. Don't forget to lean forward to let your breast naturally fill the cup..

Hope that is of some help

Ahhhh lots of women fasten from the front and twist. Try a bikini with those awful plastic slit fastenings. I'm sure they are designed for partners only access. No way can I do a back clip with them!

And one day you are at a party, a lovely low slung dress, a push up bra to enhance and a malfunction. The clip fails - one tit goes left, the other right. You smile. Men look, female friends casually stand in front of you and you have a secret smile - I love having boobs!

Lol, I do mine in front, too, as did my ex-spouse and many ex-gfs, hun. I think the length of one's arms comes into play as does natural flexibility and dexterity. While I can sometimes do it in back, it makes my shoulders hurt, so I stopped trying, so, no worries, lol...

Thanks for the advice and understanding.  I shall try to employ the guidance you have provided and at the same time not feel unduly embarrassed by my feeble attempts to master the art.  All the best.

My wife does bras up in front about 75% (or more) of the time.

It also helps to be flexible.

I do mine in back.  My arms go that way easily and I can feel where the hooks are with my fingers.

I use to be quite good at doing it up from the back but I noticed my wife always did it from the front so I started trying that.  Now I always do it at the front.  It's so much easier.

My GF when I was 15 fastened hers on the front then turned them around, lots of women do :) . I don't have trouble doing mine on the back myself, but I have a few bras where theres a clasp on the front between the cups, rather than a hook in the back. Might wana look for something like it if you cant get the hang of it?

Don't worry about not being able to do it easily tho <3

I thought everyone turned them. . .

I do mine in the back because I sweat a lot and I can't move the bra around once it's tight.

My trick is to arrange it so the cups are practically at my shoulders, so the back band is low enough for me to reach.  Once it's hooked, I shift the shoulder straps so the cups are in front of my (microscopic) breasts.

Totally OT: a webcomic I follow (Rain LGBT) mentioned the "Itty Bitty Titty Committee."  I think I've earned a seat on that committee.  :)

And I know plenty of women who have their bra securely fastened and simply step into the middle and pull them up or pull them down over their head.  Flexibility and dexterity are not easy for all of us ;)
