For Chett girls: When did you cut on dilation sessions?

Ok, definitely post-op life is not being fun, mostly because of three dilations a day. So far I have followed the orders exactly, and I am five days away from the 2 months mark. My delay on the dilation schedule I was given is of just two days (the plane trip), and in two weeks I am supposed to start with the biggest dilator, #4 (If I don't count the two soul source ones I have to act as #5 and #6.

Problem is, I have to get back to work, and is is not compatible with those recommended 3x50 minutes sessions a day. Chett recommended me to keep with three sessions for at least three months, before cutting it down to two sessions. But pretty much it's not possible unless I want to start eating air.

Did any of you cut down to two sessions by the third month? What was your experience? (time to depth become longer, pain, etc) Supposedly it's still the hard part until it gets easy in the 4th month and I know it's crucial, but it just can't be done unless I request to be given less hours per day to fit the middle of the day dilation.

See if your employer will work with you. I'm not a Chett girl but I have pretty much the same schedule. I went back to work after 6 weeks and still had 6 weeks to go with the 3 a day dilations.
I live about 12 minutes from work so they let me go home at lunch time to do my thing then come back and eat lunch at my desk while getting some work done. I end up with about a 90 minute lunch, but since it's only for 6 weeks the company doesn't have any problem with it.

I'm too far away from the office, so it's not possible :( It takes me 90 minutes between coming and going, considering I don't miss commuting trains. Best option if I can get them to reduce my working hours for a month, but it's not guaranteed.

I went to Chett & I actually never moved up to 3 times a days. When it was time to move up to 3 times a day, I continued to only do 2 times a day. I'm now a year and 3 months & I dilate once a week. Never had any complications. & I dilate with a real life dildo with 5.5" circumference & 1.75 width.

At 2 months I had to return to work I seem to remember, and at that time I went down to twice a day on work days for an hour before and an hour after, I got in he habit of eating breakfast while dilating and than dinner, and on the day I was off I did 3 maybe 4 times a day, and at a year went to once maybe twice a week, and eventually to the point that I'm at now, and that's when I remember. currently using the orange soul source and its only slightly uncomfortable to start but that's it. dilating is a real pitv but it has to happen also ymmv as with anything else.

In the end I'm going back to work tomorrow. I want to play it safe, so I have arranged it for shorter work hours for one month. I will keep my 3x50min (+ time to depth + preparation + post-dilation cleanup) schedule, although it will still be a lot more lapsed thatn the 6 hours between dilations I was doing.

- 05:45 - Morning Dilation

- 16:30 - Evening Dilation

- 21:30 - Night Dilation

Breakfast? Sesame Street told me to not do that unless I wanted to sleep with crumbs, but overall I haven't found a way of dilating hands free yet, plus I'm still doing Suporn's Dynamic Dilation.

Hello Apsharas

You may have head Dr Chett's head nurse, Sri, say to you "Listen to your body."  Three daily dilations is certainly disruptive if you are working, and perhaps you can get by with two slightly longer ones for a couple of months.

But, yes, listen to your body.  If things tighten up on two sessions and you feel sore, then take action.  If you are clearly losing depth over a few days (unlikely but possible), then return to three sessions.

Good luck
Julia

So far the impression my body gives me is that on just 10-12 hours between dilations (from night to morning) it tightens considerably, so cutting to just one every 12 is worrying, since anything beyond 8-9 hours becomes harder. I also have to start with the biggest dilator (not counting the two ones I got from Soul Source), and that usually requires me three sessions until I make progress and the pain stops. I'm worried that if I cut down to # before going up a size, I may not be able to pull it :(

Everyone from the surgeon and nurses to my GP tells me that it's incredible how fast and easily I recover, but I guess that's a downside when your body treats your vag as a "wound" that needs to be healed.

I cut down to two sessions after two months but lengthened my evening session to 90-120 minutes. That worked well for me until the sixth month. At six months I went down to one session a day at 120 minutes. That worked well for the rest of the first year, when I began reducing that down a bit, slowly.

Now at almost 19 months I'm dilating every other day for about an hour and have gone 3-4 days in rare situations and not seen any problems except a bit of tightness on my largest dilator when I skip more than every other day.

In addition to the 4 dilators from Dr. Chett, I bought the Sole Source green and orange dilators (both are larger than Chett's #4 dilator, his largest). My current routine is Chett's #1 for 10 minutes, Green for 15 minutes, and Orange for 35 minutes. I usually watch a TV show on Netflix or something while I do this in the evenings.

I have had zero problems.

I bought both too. I had heard of some girls only buying the orange monster, but with chett's dilators it's about 3mm jumps, so it seemed logical, with #4 being 32, green 35 and orange 38. Even though I have zero interest in penetrative sex after so much dilation.

I'm advancing dilation for a day, so that I can do the switch to #4 on saturday and get adjusted to it during the weekend and not waste time before work. Those jumps are painful as heck.

This worries me a bit now. I am 6 weeks post op, and will most probably start in a new job as a freelance consultant in 3 weeks. There is no way in hell I can ask for time off to do dilation, but the upside is that I can book a hotel nearby so I can get "home" to do dilation asap after work. When I go 12 hours between dilations, I feel it tightens quite a bit, so I still need to do 3 times a day. I have a friend who is 16 months post op now, and she has lost 1/2 inch of her original depth since she did not have time to do the full dilation schedule... I really don't want to loose any depth.
Any ideas for hands-free dilation? If I was able to write while dilating I could maybe get some work done :)

Depending on the type of writing, you could use a speech to text program. It might not get everything perfect but you should always proof your work anyway. Susan described a process here that I have never tried as I have become very handy with a single hand. It might be possible to use a belt to hold the towel in place if you need full use of both hands.

Yes, single handed typing works fine for things like this, I am actually dilating right now. But for programming I need both hands as there are so many shortcuts. Maybe an elastic belt could be a solution. A little worried about using a non-elastic belt, if I move and put too much pressure on it. Have to invent something :)

Already on #4 since this morning.

The week has been pretty hellish, with one dilation at 6:00 and another at 17:00, which makes it get pretty tight. I missed one night dilation once due to being tired, and it also had tightened badly.

I need to putt effort with #4 during the weekend, in hopes that by monday it will be easier and less painful. 19 days left to cut down...

Most probably, I will still have to do 3 a day on weekends in the future, when moving up a size to soul source #3 and #4. A bigger dilator needs extra effort than just maintaining.

I long gave up dilation of my futile vagina of 4 inch. I'm gonna go for the Sigmoid to fix this, no patience with dilation anymore

I was very loyal for one year and then I haven't dilated for 9 years...I seem like things are quite ok for me

I stuck to the recommended schedule very strictly for the first 12 months. as time progressed, I was getting comfortable with everything down there and I could start to feel how things were down there. I tried a few things by myself, like skipping a day and experiementing what I thought was right. Sometimes I left it too long and it was tight. After the first year, I found that once a day was enough and I could start with no 2 dilator (26mm) . Intially  it was slow and firm but I could make full depth, so that dropped off more time. Six months later I dropped to every second day once again staring with no 2. I kept at this for at least another 12 months or roughly when I met my partner.

When we started dating seriously and tried sex it was a disaster, I don't blame my dilation schedule as I could easily take no 4 (32mm) at my full depth, but not my partner and he is not a huge guy downstairs ( I didn't say that), but I was too tense and not relaxed to this type of penetration, but things worked out and I calmed and de-stressed and found I could take him and oh-boy it was good.

Nowdays, just passed the 10 year mark, I usually dilate just once per week. I just start off with no 4 and slowly insert to full depth and hold for approx 20 min, although and don't actually time or anything, just pull when I feel like it. I feel I could completely give it away, but I find it a assuring thing for peace of mind. We have an active sex life, but always start with good foreplay before he enters me and we like lots of lube.We have gone on vacation and not taken dilators, but we made other arrangements

Given how tight #4 is, and how #3 was still pretty tight until starting with #4, I don't thing that reaching the last Chett dilator makes you sex ready. Even for toys, I'm having trouble trying to find something of around 32mm, with 35 being the most common thing for cis toys, which is scary unless it is a super soft thing. I was looking for the rabbit vibrator (since I don't see myself with other humanse yet).

Given the fact that you go up a size every 4 weeks, the 25th of March I will try to go up a size again, to 35 mm. I will have to do three a day during the weekend, since it shinks so fast when you are starting a new dilator.

What annoys me to no end is having to use 4 dilators per session. Chett insists in using #1 and #2 for a year, but next week I may try to start on #2 and see how long it takes me to reach full depth. It's a waste of lube and time.

Yesterday I went from 3 to 2 sessions, more or less having 10-12 hours between them. I arrive home that the night dilation was happening just 3 hours after the evening one (from 17:00 to 18:00). The price to pay was that this I was needing 10 minutes per dilator to get to depth, and using 4 dilators I barely could leave in time to catch the train. I wonder when I will be able to drop #1 and start with #2.

Things will get trickier in april :/ With my full job + workout schedule, 19 hours will pass between morning and bedtime dilation. This is not going to be fun at all...
