I am looking at a local surgeon - one who doesn't do trans work, but anyway he shows pix of silicone gel implants and high profile saline injections.  So whats the difference?  I'd shy away from silicone normally.

And ... is it advisable to approach a plastic surgeon that doesn't list any tran work.  In fact, he lists male breast reduction.

I am afraid to approach him as i am not serious yet, and hate to waste people's time.

If you mean saline implants, in the past silicone was supposed to feel more life like but saline is safer should the implant leak. Before we had so many transgender surgeons, we would commonly used local surgeon for breast implants unless we had implant at the time of GCS. A local surgeon has the advantage that encapsulation can be handled by a doctor local to you and as implants don't last forever, you will have a surgeon available for a redo.

The new silicon cohesive gel in implants these days is much safer, also called gummy bears, I think.
