I love road trips. Once I travelled en-femme from Arizona to Chicago along Rt 66. I did not even bother (or did not have an opportunity) to dress fully - only light skirt, 40C boobs, nice femme t-shirt, no wig (but with a bandanna) and no makeup other than lipstick. I stopped at gas stations to eat and refuel, or to go to a restroom (oh, sometimes they were full and I had to stay in line). Sometimes I just stopped to breath some air or to see a place and been seen.
I only had 2 negative experiences during this trip. Once a group of lads drove by when I was resting outside a gas station and one guy shouted something towards me. I just looked at him, smiled and let them go. My thought was at the time that it is the most insecure of all group who would want to do that. (And the fact that the gas station was full with many other people made me feel totally secure).
Another negative experience I had, happened in Illinois. Only there, for the first time in my life, a male bathroom attendant wanted me to go to the men's room. Well, tough luck for him, I just ignored him and went to a stall and did my business. On my way out, he wanted to harass me and I told him, that I am a transgender and there's a law allowing us to use ether room and if he interferes with my needs to peacefully use the public facilities, I'll bring ACLU and sue him, his manager, the whole department and state of IL. That was a lie as we all know, but it gave him enough benefit of a doubt to shut up (and I did not ask his permission to use the facility, I was already out and on my way).
All other experiences on that trip were totally awesome! I had lots of positive conversations with many different people (I was a bit concerned about Texas, or Missouri - but nope, I got just fine with everyone there). I had wonderful time.
