At what age did you hit puberty, and was it 'normal'?

QuoteI underwent two karyotypes tests; one before the age of fifteen, and another one right before my SRS, but they both came back XY.

Well, the preciseness of karyotypes, especially small sample blood ones, is doubtful. It only confirms that those cells exist. They can't really confirm or disprove mosaicism with a relatively high success ratio. The most precise is FISH (Fluorescent In-Situ Hybridization).

I guess if for you it doesn't change anything, that's all good, too. In itself it doesn't have much repercussions.

Thank you for the information, Schala :).  Certainly, something to consider but as I previously said, it doesn't really matter anymore.  Anyhow thanks!

My puberty started at age 13. I was pretty much fully grown by then. It lasted into my twenties 21ish. Actually I didn't get much hair until about 28 and over the next five years grew a lot of hair which is where I'm at now. I don't know if hair growth has anything to do with puberty. As for socially and personally puberty was hell.

Tall-wise I finished growing at 18. I was always late behind everyone else in growth, so much so no one would have thought it odd for my final height to be 5'2" or something. But I eventually grew to 5'6".

I had an head shorter (9+ inches) shorter than all boys in any of my classes throughout all school years. I think I've been taller than a handful of girls in early elementary and maybe late 10th grade. By 11th grade I was a bit above 5 feet. Here the school system has only 11 grades, so I graduated then, and couldn't compare afterwards really.

I feel short, or tall at times (relative to people I'm with), but generally I don't really care.

I should probably clarify about my puberty I know posted a long period of time but it probably slowed by premarin. At age 13 my mom had a hysterectomy so she had bunch extra pills lying around because of changing doses. So I used them at the most I could get maybe a weeks worths and probably no more 40 or 30 pills a year for the next four years. I know I was a little ->-bleeped-<- and I did other crappy things too. I really don't think premarin had much effect on me. Also at age 11 I was about 5'7 and now I am about 5'8.

I started puberty around 9 or 10 but it was anything but normal I'm pretty sure. I started growing breasts around then and by 16 when I stated HRT I had a large A cup. My hips had gotten wider durning that time too, I had been told by my mom quite a few times that my hips and pelvic region looked like a girls hip and pelvic region, my hands and feet have stayed pretty small (I'm an 8 in womens and have very feminine hands), not to metion I have been told I have a baby's face. So I think that my puberty even though I did start growing facial and body hair and male stuff was happening it was not normal at all.

I still was very unhappy considering I still had T in my system and it was deepening my voice and doing those other disgusting things to me.

Hi all, I'm new here and love this site. I started out puberty like a lot of you, pretty late and I only had to shave two or three wiskers when I was in basic training in USAF at 18. Still to this day (I just turned 50), I don't have to shave but every two to three days and my beard is not heavy but quite dark. Oh, and that thing about the index finger, both my right and left index fingers are longer than my ring finger.

That's actually weird, so are mine. Like I said though I have lots of features that are abnormal for a male anyway for me (A FEMALE!!! :D ) they're normal.
