I can't find anywhere that tells me I can do a gender change in PA in person. It's all telling me I have to mail it in with the original documentation. I'm not too fond of having to give up my original!

See if you can find hours for the building you'd have to mail it to, then maybe call and ask? Or if it's nearby, just show up.

Maryland didn't ask that I relinquish my original copy, just had to send them forms. But they sure are taking their sweet time on it :/ Wish I had gone in person to drop it off.

No. I was born in PA. When you send birth certificate change stuff in for PA, the address they provide is in DE.

That makes no sense and does not jive with what I fond. Let me get the link

http://www.health.pa.gov/MyRecords/Certificates/BirthCertificates/Documents/Birth_cert_correction[1].pdf

http://www.transequality.org/documents/state/pennsylvania

It gets sent to New Castle PENNSYLVANIA  not DE and you do not have to send the orig is you use the correction form

I did misread the state. I've never heard of New Castle PA and there's a New Castle DE about 10 minutes from me.

I guess I can try using what you found. I actually can't find any information on the PA gov website about gender change, but for name change it says the following, which is what I was basing needing the original on:

If an individual has obtained a court order changing his/her name, submit a certified copy of the court order bearing the raised seal of the court and signature of the judge. A photocopy or facsimile copy of a court order is not acceptable.

Yeah that is for name change. Gender marker you just need a DRs letter. The second link has a sample letter you can have your DR use
