I'm looking for an inexpensive top surgeon in or near Iowa and Illinois. I'm willing to travel, but only if the price is worth it. I'll be getting a double incision mastectomy.

Hi Dionysis, Welcome to Susan's. I have moved your post to the FTM Top Surgery area that should help get you some responses. I have no ideas or I would offer up names of surgeons to assist you, but I'm sure some of the guys will be able to assist. I look forward to seeing you around the forums. Good luck and Hugs

Transbucket is a good website to look at.  You can select different types of top surgery, and different surgeons to compare.  Most people also post the cost of their surgeries.  I just saw Dr. Medalie in OH, and surgery was about $7,000.  Others will probably have more information about surgeons closer to you, but I'm not sure personally.

Are you paying with insurance or out of pocket?

Hey I don't know if you want to travel to NE at all, but I had mine done by Dr. Mitchell in Lincoln, Ne not too long ago and he did a real nice job. He accepts a lot of insurance types and i'm also doing a payment plan with the hospital. The surgery alone (not including hospital fees) was around $6500.
