My husband has ear surgery coming up and won't be able to pull anything over his head for a few days. Is there anything we can do so he can be more or less bound until he heals up?

Yup!

There are a couple of things. A tight sports bra (with front or back fasteners) can be a good idea, particularly if it has a smaller cup size.

Alternatively, after top surgery many surgeons recommend using back supports as a chest compression device; you can get them at sporting goods retailers. I see from your message thread that you're in Alaska; I'm in the UK so have no knowledge of your retailers, but here's one I googled which will show you what sort of thing I'm talking about.

You just wrap that around the chest, fastening the velcro at the front in the middle of the chest (or under an arm, if that's more suitable) . It squishes the offending parts & isn't visible under most button-up shirts. But be careful to ensure it doesn't affect his breathing.

I use a strapless binder that has bra-type hooks. It's basically a tube. I can't stand having anything over my shoulders so it's all I ever use.

Double sports bra with a tanktop over top might work.

I had a bad shoulder injury a few years ago and found I could step into a binder (kind of like I imagine you'd put on a dress that didn't have a zipper).

I often pull my Underworks binders up after stepping into them. Think of putting on a woman's 1 pice swimsuit.

I always did the step into method (flipped inside out) with the tank top style Underworks binders.

The "How to Put On a Chest Binder" section of that link is what I found the most helpful.

Hope your husband's ear surgery goes smoothly.

Sadly step through won't work on anything tight. He has large hips.
Plus he is big, about 46?DD (we have not gotten any of those things in awhile). He falls out of the bottom of his GC2B.
