At the moment I have Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp on my mobile under my Bob name. However, a lot of girls I know have their own versions of those for their trans selves. I'd like the same but am a bit concerned about security, especially as there have been worries about data sharing. I don't want one of my Bob friends to suddenly get a suggestion about making one of my trans friends a contact. It would be easy enough to set up Facebook on a different email address I guess, but you can't do multiple WhatsApp accounts for one number as far as I can see. One solution is just to get a separate phone purely for Christine use, but is there any other options I might have missed or any other security concerns I should be aware of?

Phones are tough.  I've not found a way for Facebook without logging out and back in.  FB frowns upon having "fake" or "second" accounts so they don't make it easy.

I can give you one warning though.  I have a Dan FB account and a Denise FB account and without thinking Denise accepted a friend request from someone who was friends with Dan.  Whoops, Denise showed up on Dan's suggested friends list.  I would assume on all my friends lists too.

On my laptop I use two different browsers.  Chrome for Dan and Firefox for Denise.

The only safe way is to use a totally separate device, i.e. a new phone.

I have separate FB accounts for Kathy and [boy name], and I make sure to keep them totally separate.  They can have no friends in common.  (I made an exception for my wife: she is friends on both, but only because she allows me to police her friends list.)

I have had to reject friend requests from people (to whom I am out) who are friends of [boy name] when they tried to friend me as Kathy.  I sent them a polite note explaining that I can't allow them to be friends under both names.

Social media are useful, but they are extremely promiscuous.  You have to be vigilant about your safety.

Hey,
I have a Facebook for my ture self (mtf) and the way I did it was by only having friends who know I'm transsexual on it. One way you can do it is by having one open on incognito Browser
Hope this helps sweetie ❤

Sort of thnking separate device is safest option though that also raises issues if Mrs H finds it. Nothing is uncomplicated in this lifestyle sometimes.
