I'm wondering, according to most accounts spontaneous erections should slow down and stop when on spironolactone.

I'm having the opposite occur, as they seem to be increasing.

It's only been a few days since I started HRT so I'm not worried about it, just curious if anyone else had the same thing happen?

It takes quite a while for T to drop below the normal male range.   "Allow several weeks for delivery."

Earth my body, water my blood, air my breath and fire my spirit.

My personal transition path included medical changes.  The path others take may require no medical intervention, or different care.  We each find our own path. I provide these dates for the curious.

You could try a more potent T-blocker (an alternative to Spiro)? Ask your doctor.

Function could stick around for a while after T is suppressed. My testosterone was nil after less than 2 months but libido wasn't really hit for about 4 months.

My T has been 0.05 for over 2 years now and occasionally there is movement in the camp but I have to say with 9 months HRT there is not a great deal

I noticed a return of then at around the 7.5 month mark after not really noticing any since starting HRT. I did start Finasteride at the 6.5 month mark though and that could have been the cause of it as I hear it can increase Free Testosterone a bit due to less being able to bind to DHT receptors or something and since an increase in spiro a little over a month ago haven't had one again. Since you've started Spiro fairly recently maybe it's your body just increasing it's production of Testosterone because of the sudden drop due to the new med? I hear that the body tries to overcompensate at the very beginning due to not used to the low T then after awhile it gives up and just accepts it's fate haha

I was thinking something like that...

I've started on a low dose and take both spiro and E on waking to combat my peak T mid morning.  I find that about 2:00 AM I am woken by a tree branch in my pajama pants... ;)

It varies to everyone and some don't lose them completely. Still they should lesson over time for sure once on HRT. Hugs

But, but, but... I want results now! JK, the 'morning wood' caught me by surprise as it started the night I started HRT and it's been every night so far... and I hadn't had any for years...

And talk about strange dreams... I've never had one about a large anthropomorphic banana being chased by a gigantic lily wielding pruning sheers before...  ;D

Give it time grasshopper. Perhaps it knows it's days are numbered and wants to go out with a last hurrah. Yours will likely succumb to the inevitable and go into semi permanent hiding like mine did. (If you recall I posted about it) It's gotten bad enough that I have to coax it out to pee sometimes.  Ahh the joys of HRT.

Hugs,

I didn't say mine didn't "work". it's just that now I have to work at it and the desire to do so is seldom there.

Your body is likely attempting to compensate for the flip and is producing more T for a short while.  I had no issues with attaining erections until about month 6...that was my 4th blood test and there was a very dramatic DROP in my T...from about 500 at month 4's test to below 50.

I started HRT with a T level of 360, so there was a spike from my second test and third.
