i am looking for groups in Akron, Canton, Cleveland, and just anywhere close by in Ohio. i heard to stay out of Cleveland cause it's dangerous for transgender people. Akron i didn't get enough information because they never called me back all the times i have called and Canton is just absent or i didn't see any in my research. i may not be looking hard enough but i'd like to get a support system setup before i start transitioning. any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!  :-*

Welcome to Susan's Place. Normally if you google "city LGBT" you  will get a local center. They may  be able to connect you with medical help and support groups in your area. A live support group is very useful but don't forget that we can help you with many of your needs.

We issue to all new members the following links so you will best be able to use the web site.

Also look for PFLAG groups in your area. I am in Pittsburgh and we have a lare number of trans members. They can also put you in touch with other trans specific groups as well

I know I'm a bit late to this thread but I'm still new here so I wasn't around when it was first posted.

I live in the Cleveland area and I don't want to ignore your concerns, but I know a lot of other trans people in Cleveland and I never got the impression that we're not safe here. I could be wrong, so definitely be as careful as you feel the need to be. The LGBT center in Cleveland is really great; I've been going to programs there for a few weeks and I love it.
