HRT impact on ingrown hair on legs?

Hi girls, I'm curious to know if HRT will have any impact on ingrown hairs that I get on the back of my upper legs and some front upper thighs?  I'm "theorizing" that HRT will soften the skin and hairs so that this becomes less of a issue over time but I would like to hear some experiences.

I have very good luck over my entire body not getting ingrown hairs, and I'm very careful about proper exfoliating, shaving in the correct direction, moisturizering etc. but for some reason the back of my legs just insist on being a problem.  One issue that I've noticed is the hair appears to grow out in many directions naturally so determining a shaving direction is somewhat difficult.

Can anyone recommend a regime that works for them?  How about something that I can do to repair the damage (red marks/bumps) from this being a problem from years of shaving.  Maybe I should just get it lasered away?

I have epilated for a long time my legs, but stopped due to the ingrown hairs I would get.
The last day however I just realised as I hadn't shaved my legs in abit and they are very sparse. So I said I would give it another go, even if I do get a few ingrown hairs again, they disappear eventually and so might of my leg hair. I'm not out yet so it's not like anyone sees my legs :')
They are like 50% less that they where in the beginning, HRT may also have played a role.
I have less hair on my legs than my gf now lol

I found that the problem is lessened to a great degree when I wear clean pants everyday. I used to wear my jeans till they lost all shape and then wash them just to get their shape back. Consequently, I found the oil and whatever else would rub into my pores and cause ingrowns.  So regardless of how yor pants may look and feel, try washing them after a single wearing and see if it isn't a help to you.

I've been on HRT since 2004 and noticed no improvement at all.
I am not a medical doctor, nor a scientist - opinions expressed by me on the subject of HRT are merely based on my own review of some of the scientific literature over the last decade or so, on anecdotal evidence from women in various discussion forums that I have come across, and my personal experience

I have never had a bad problem with ingrown hairs.  But HRT made it all so light and slow growing that I only need to shave my legs every three months or so.

I haven't started HRT yet, but I read tight jeans could increase the risk of ingrown hairs.

I continue to moisturise daily in the area I would shave wether I have shaved or not. I think the HRT helps as the skin softens but keeping it in good health is really important hence the reason for the moisturiser. I have noticed a definite slow down in the dark ones, even under my arms and chest is beginning to slow...but I do mean just.

Thanks girls, I'm hoping HRT will have some impact but I think I'm going to also try exfoliating more and applying rose hip oil and see if that helps.  If it continues to be a problem, I'll just Laser the hair away.

I have noticed an increase in ingrowns since starting hrt.  My body hair seems weaker and not able to push up through the skin as easily.

Been shaving my legs for 17 years or more now, no change. I can recommend an exfoliator with glycolic acid (5%) it may be a bit harsh for RIGHT after you shower/shave as your pores will be wide open. More of a day after thing.
