Why am I so tired a whole week after taking T?

So, i have been on T for over a year, and I take it biweekly.
When i first started, i felt fine and sometimes even energetic but lately ive been the opposite.
It starts the day after my shot and lasts around a week where im so tired and could easily sleep all damn day. Its irritating because i have a lot of work to do and i work from home so being so tired is not helping and its very tempting to just go to sleep.
Im wondering if maybe its because my dosage was lowered but i really cant say thats it for sure since i cant remember when this started. It could have started when it was lowered and it may not have. I spoke to my doctor about it but tbh im unsure if she even knows much about what shes doing. Sadly im in a state that isnt keen on trans people and shes one of the only doctors that treats trans stuff, but her main job is for people with diabetes.
Ever time ive mentioned certain things she just kind of shrugs it off and i get no answer.

The reason she lowered it was because apparently what i was on made my levels too high?
I mean, im okay with a lower dosage, as it doesnt make me ridiculously turned on constantly now that its lower and i dont have so much acne any more, but i definitely feel like cramps and such around 4 days before my next shot, since its so long between them. Ive heard most people do weekly shots in the US and ive heard of the dosages being a good bit higher than what im on so im wondering if maybe i need to attempt to find another doctor (which is unlikely) or what? Even my surgeon that did my top surgery told me i should be doing the shots weekly and such. He takes T but for other reasons.

Unsure of whats going on. This fatigue issue has been a thing for like half a year or so now and im really tired of it as im busier than ever with everything going on in my life atm and i cant afford to be losing a day or more to being so dang tired...

Have you had your liver enzymes tested? It's usually an every few months thing to test when on hormones.

Do you have access to your lab results? I'd want to know about your T and E levels before I make any kind of judgment on it.

I dont think so. I get my blood tested whenever i see my doc, which is like once every 6 months to a year now.

No. Sadly they dont let me see the results, for some reason. The lab wont even release them to me.
And sadly i dont have many options for docs that deal with trans people here other than this one and shes 2 hours from me.

Im on a massively small dosage so im hoping maybe thats it and its not anything else?
Or maybe i got my body into a habit of being tired by sleeping after one of my injections a long while back?

Can you find a different doc? It´s bizarre that they won´t give you insight in your own bloodwork. Then what´s the point of checking your levels, I wonder.

Maybe you can ask around for some trans friendly doctors (or just some doctors with common sense) in your area? I know that tiredness can be associated with low T levels, either that or T too high and converting back into estrogen. But it could be other things as well. Best to have it checked.

Im kind of in the middle of nowhere in Kentucky. Not too many docs in my state, let alone close enough to me to get to, other than her. Shes in like the biggest well known hospital we have in this state.

I cant really afford to go to one out of state so best i can do is pester the hell out of her to figure out whats causing it. They tested my levels to see how much T i should be taking. She started me out with slightly lower than what ive heard most people end up on, but apparently my blood work showed that i still had T levels that were too high so she lowered it and apparently now its perfect? Which i find to be odd since its literally such a small dosage that the pharmacist cant put less than two doses in a vile at once.
I may see about asking her if i can maybe do weekly injections of it instead of biweekly, because i start feeling cramps and awful crap like 4 days before my next shot. So i go from being massively tired to only a couple of days feeling normal, then cramps that get worse each day until my next shot.

A quick google search says that a provider needs to show you your test results. http://www.arcare.net/Portals/2573/web-content/files/kyprivacy.pdf

I would go to weekly shots and if your provider doesn't think that is reasonable I would really question if they have a clue what they are talking about.

Thats good to know and i may see if i can get an appointment with her or something soon then. Though it usually takes like 6months to see her. Shes apparently super busy. Maybe i can at least call in to get my scrip changed.

I have had tests with two labs and both offered online portal access. Go to the web site for the lab and you should find a link to it. You will most likely need your name, birthdate and social security number to gain access to your records. Most of the time I get my results before the doctor has time to pull them because I get an email alert.

If anything they could mail your results to you or you could pick them up after they get them ready. You shouldn't need a script change. You literally take the dose you are taking every two weeks and cut it in half and then take it every week. Your doctor should know that's what you want to do but its nothing special.

if you haven't asked already, I would say look into what other doctors trans ppl in your area are seeing. Even it its someone clear across the state, it has to be better then your current doc. Its really not good to have a relationship with a doctor who's judgment you question. Its possible that they might go see a doctor who is flying under the radar and could give you much better service.

Here is a what a google search brought up for trans-friendly Doctors in your state.
