Today is Day 1 of HRT for me. What a whirl wind it has been. I told myself I would come out to my entire family before I started and I did. My wife has been with me through everything so there was nothing to tell her, I came out to my Brother about two months ago, my Mom on Thursday and my Dad yesterday.

I'm very excited and scared at the same time. I am ready to finally make the much needed changes to my self.

Congratulations Julia. That first day is so exciting. Welcome to the start of the real you.

Congratulations Julia!!!

I remember that feeling very well a bit more than a year ago. After my endo gave me the prescription, I drove to the nearest Walgreens, got the pills and swallowed the first one in the parking lot. On the drive home, I kept listening to "Amazing Day" by Coldplay for almost a full hour... It was one of the most amazing days of my life. Enjoy the ride, it might have some bumps, but it's sooooo worth it.

Hi Julia.

   Congratulations on your coming out to family. Did you have a party or are you partying with yourself by taking your HRT? It doesn't take that long for you to begin feeling them start to work. Heck, I bet you already are with the elation you probably feel by just starting.  I wish you a happy journey.

Fantastic Julia. It's such an exciting moment. You'll be checking bodily changes daily probably to begin with Remember, it's a long haul. My only other advice is the safety one, borne from some stupid mistakes I made:

Get regular blood tests: everyone reacts differently
Use an endocrinologist or medic who knows what they're talking about and
Obtain your medication from safe sources
