Just wondering - does anyone know of any medications that lower T without producing feminine features?  It seems like it would aldactone, but not sure if there are others?

I am just not sure I want to deal with the storm that the latter would introduce.  I know there are supposed to be dietary ways.  Open to those - but wonder just how effective they are.  If someone has before/after T counts with only dietary changes, I'd be very interested in hearing about them.

Thanks very much.

Modern HRT is normally two medications minimum. One is estradiol and the other is a blocker. Both drugs may differ depending on the country you live in but the mix can be changed to control the results. What you are describing comes close to low dose where the blocker is adjusted to shut down the testosterone production and you receive a minimum of estrogen for bone heath. Over the short term it's possible to go without estrogen however you will experience menopause  with the hot flashes and everything. Your best bet would be to see an endo and received the proper dosage for your body.

Producing feminizing effects is a side effect of lowering t I'm afraid. Even if you don't take estrogens, your body produces them naturally in small amounts, so if there isn't enough T you get very mild feminizing... As far as I know anyway, I'm certainly not a doctor.

I wonder if you could use finestiride by itself. DHT blocker, and I've heard of it being used by men to reduce body hair.

I'm using it in combo with spiroenlactone, but seems like it can/has been used by itself.
Finestiride has very little in terms of side effects (beyond impairment of sexual functions for cis men). I've not experienced any side effects from the drug.

What specifically are you trying to accomplish, prevent further T effects, or reduce the effects it's currently having on your body?

If I remember correctly I think there can be a concern when both T and E are low, at least from a physician stand point.

Well for just reducing The effects dietary wise, saw palmetto is a mild alfa5 reductase inhibitor but finesteride from a doctor would be more uniform and more potent. These will reduce DHT production from testosterone. DHT is what causes most masculine traits like high muscle mass and also androgen alopecia aka make pattern baldness to those suceptible to it genetically.
However blocking DHT will raise free blood testosterone itself. You can lower testosterone production with simple things like whole ground flax seed, peppermint or spearmint tea, real licorice. These have all been shown to reduce T somewhat in men and significantly in women.
If you lower testosterone enough the otherwise low amounts of estradiol your body makes can begin having some effects. It won't be quick but it can happen.

Now a bit of a warning from my experience. I had pretty low testosterone for some years. Low enough I had slight breast tissue development under the areola. When I started using dietary measures I was surprised by how it worked quickly. However my hormone levels dropped far enough I had what I would guess PMS is like. I felt like the world was commingled to an end emotionally. Almost crippling mood swings including anxiety. It was bad enough I started taking a menopause supplement with plant pytoestogens and soy isoflavones in it. This kept me level headed but not feeling great. I also lost a large amount of muscle and a noticable strength loss. There was also breast tissue growth actually seemed faster than it does now on low dose HRT. However real estradiol has been just a miracle drug for my mental state and emotional one. I still have social anxiety but that background constant anxiety noise is gone.

Thank-you for all the feedback.  I guess I am just trying to reduce the effects of testosterone.  I am a very quiet person, but I despise the feelings associated with masculinity.  I consume copious amounts of the dietary products believed/known to reduce testosterone - and I feel a difference - but it has not eliminated them.  i guess a part of me knows i will never have this current body be an accurate reflection of who i am on the inside - and so i'd rather not try to straddle that fence.  Nothing wrong with others who make that attempt for sure - an difficult thing to go through no doubt - but i am just not wanting to fight that battle.  So i just want to remove some of the chemicals that i sense are causing the conflict.

i will research some of those medications.

For those on blockers and perhaps low dose estrogen, does it change facial features, voice, etc., ?  And if so, how much?

Thanks very much,

With HRT it will NOT affect your voice, facial hair, or bone structure. You may notice the shape of your face change due to fat redistribution, the sharpest features may lesson. Your skin can become softer, more translucent, and less oily.

I was/am actually surprised at how much my face has changed. I already had an androgynous bone structure, but now I have complete male fail.

If you decide to proceed I would suggest taking a selfie every couple weeks.

You may not notice anything as the reflection in the mirror looks pretty much like the day before, but not the same as a month or two ago.

I did definitely notice the blocking the T took the edge off pretty quickly. Due to an epilepsy condition I had to start Estrogen very slow, took about 8 months before it would have been considered a therapeutic dose/normal female levels. During this time I started spiro first, again slowly and at six months started finestiride. Basically for the first 6-7 months it was just the Testosterone or lack there of that was affecting my body/visible changes.

I will note that I had really low energy because of that no mans land with hormone levels.

I also had low Testosterone most of my puberty, so my bone structure as mentioned was affected, I had a solid A cup before any hrt, and my voice never deepened. Made the changes really obvious where I think would typically be more subtle.
