Hi everyone,

My name is Fee and I'm a mid-forties trans woman from Austin, TX... originally from the UK (London).

I started transitioning in 2012 when I started laser and electrolysis. Started HRT in early 2014, and I've been full-time since early 2016, but out everywhere except work a couple years before that. I changed my legal name and gender marker about a year ago. I'm married and we have a 6 year old child together. :)

The main reason for me joining is that I'm ready to do my GCS and I'm researching doctors and related information, but I'm definitely also interested in making new friends.

I'm sure my story resonates with many of you. I've struggled with my gender identity since I was a child. I always knew I was different. Every time I looked in the mirror, or at a photograph, I would not see the person I was expecting to see. Early in life I was allowed to express my gender identity... literally my earliest memory is playing with the doll that I insisted that my mum buy for me. But, I lived a relatively sheltered childhood, and I wasn't even aware that transgender people existed until my early 20s. As soon as I became aware, I knew that I was transgender... everything suddenly made sense to me.

Throughout my adult life I cycled through periods of repressing and expressing my gender identity, and that was difficult to say the least. My first marriage failed in my late 20s when I tried to come out... and I attempted suicide. I continued cycling, and it wasn't until 2010 that I came out to my second wife... who has been amazingly supportive.

Transitioning was hard, but I know it was harder for others. My wife, family, friends, and work were all incredible... Austin is a pretty good city to be trans. Some people figured things out along the way, and my experience has been everything about me suddenly "made sense" to most other people when I came out to them. I still have some bad days here and there, but I've never been happier.

Anyway, I'm super excited to be here! :)

The main things to remember in life are Love, Kindness, Understanding and Respect - Always make forward progress

Superficial fanny kissing friends are a dime a dozen, a TRUE FRIEND however is PRICELESS
