Hello

Im freaking out. I knew in advance i was going to have some fat shifting to around my body to  other place etc.  from HRT .  Also should ad im mid 40s

But WTF!! IM getting a lot of soft fat in the area under the chin and above adams apple area and is causing a very noticeable turkey neck out of the blue.

Is this normal and/or is it temporary ? Does it just shift around ? OMG I'm freaking out.

Im seeing my doctor on monday  (for injection / check up ) will talk with then but should i be more concerned??
And  should I make an earlier appointment for this?

I noticed yesterday and its a bit more noticeable today.!?!?!

Ive always worked out and have been firm and tone for most of my life. Especially my neck and chin area.
so to have soft giggly turkey neck out the blue is freaking me out.

Just wondering if anybody else has gone threw this??

Thanks in
Advance
Rachel

I've never heard of that.  However, my neck size did shrink pretty rapidly.  Could your muscles have gotten smaller and left loose skin there?

well I hadn't thought of that maybe that's it
I don't know? if feels funny though .

but from what I've read : is that the fat does kind
a "move around " your body -  right??

I have read that my facial areas will "round out "
because of that reason - right?

could i already be losing  muscle in areas ..???
areas such as this. the neck area?

my T levels are 14.51 and  E levels "shbg" are 147.90
as of 1-1/2 weeks ago

thannks in advance for any other info given

The fat does not move around.  New fat loss and gain occurs differently than it did before due to estrogen.

Your face will likely gain some fat, yes.

Muscle loss may be different for each of us but my neck got smaller pretty quickly.

haha ... in didnt mean literally move ...

i just meant " shift "  or lose and/or gain in one or more area (s) 😃

so you had a similar type experience ?? as far as the neck ?
or did u just lose size without my spongy soft skin issue ?

Obviously everyone is different. The way I interpret it is that we all have chemical receptors to instruct our bodies how to behave. Everyone naturally has either more female or male, or some combo that result in mixed results. This is why some cis females have facial hair problems, or why some cis males have virtually no body hair. I think the same principles apply to body fat. My body seems to love to redistribute body fat to female areas (butt, thighs, breasts) ... which I love. This confirms to me what I have always believed, my body was simply waiting for the correct chemical activity (HRT) to become who I know I am. As far as what is normal? I don't think there is an answer to that. It just depends on how your body reacts to hormones and the quantity of what chemical receptors you have. I don't think chin/neck fat is gender related, more just generically biological. Plenty of cis women have chin fat issues. Perhaps it's more of a muscle loss issue as stated above, or some other combo. In general, if your body has enough female chemical receptors, most body fat should be redistributed to your butt, thighs, and breasts.

The only other thought, if you drink too much beer, it does deposit fat to the neck.  :o

My neck didn't have extra skin and had little fat on it to start with.  But it did lose muscle and circumference pretty quickly.  Unless you are eating too much and gaining weight I can't think of any other explanation.

Where is your weight overall, compared to where it was when you started HRT?
  •

Deborah

I started in Jan 2015 at 205 lbs (5'11").  I am 165 lbs now.  The day I started HRT I also started dieting and exercising to lose weight.  I've had a few ups and downs since then but have never gotten back close to 200 lbs again.

Im not a drinker  :)

I'm wondering if it had something to do with the numbing cream ( for electrolysis ) and / or the amount i put on?

That really sucks. Turkey neck is common in 40+ year old women and neck lifts are a popular fix. It sounds like this may be one of the down sides to the way estrogen is affecting your body (much like testosterone making a  female to male transsexual's hair fall out).

Guys have it so much better when it comes to getting old. They're "distinguished." We're just last year's model.
