I should have said in my earlier reply that when my father went to register my birth name, he had thought my mother was talking about a particular name and registered it accordingly only to come home and find out he has screwed up. I was never meant to have the male name I had and would have been Elizabeth Kate it they had known I was a girl.

My Family and everyone always called Me Chris because that's My name. But Mom also also called Me Crissy! Loved it when she did. Had an issue in HS about that with a friend that heard Her call Me that. My response was My Mom gave Birth to Me and so She can Me what ever She wants! It stopped then and there!!

Ashley, the exact same name I have now. Infact, my male name came from another form of the name Ashley xD I think my parents assumed they would have a baby girl

I would have been named Rory. My parents didn't know what gender I would be when I was born.

I am unsure. My parents name me after both of my grandmothers.
The first name of my mother's mother, and the middle name of my fathers mother... Maybe a masculine version of both perhaps? My parents never talked about what they would name me if I was a male at birth.
My birth name is Angela Louise.. so perhaps Aneglo Louis? Something like that perhaps? I don't feel like an Angelo though lol.

no idea, and since my parents split when i was really little, i don't think i can use their other kids' names as an indicator to what kind of name it might have been.  they went in pretty different directions after me...  though it is kind of amusing to speculate whether i'd have been the "little john" instead of my (half) brother, who was named after my dad because he was his first son (as far as he knew, anyway).
the only time i ever asked my parents anything like that was to ask if they had actually wanted a girl, which of course they assured me they had.  no one is going to tell their five year old they wished they were the opposite gender.  but being a small child, i took their word for it and thus the question of what might have been was never brought up.  if they wanted a girl, then as far as i was concerned, that meant there was no unused boy name floating around anyway.
i'd be tempted to ask my dad now, though i'm not sure how i'd word the question.  he doesn't really understand the whole gender thing and still seems to be under the impression that i'm just a lesbian.  i'd never ask this to my mom, though.  she'd probably throw a fit at the mere mention of it.

I fantasized about being a girl when I was a young kid and dressed up in my mother's underwear when no one was home through puberty. I then repressed my feelings until recently. Weirdly, my mother told me several times that if I was a girl (I am the youngest of three boys) my name was supposed to be Karen. I guess she wanted her third child to be a girl, which makes me wonder about the whole nature nurture thing.

I was passing by this thread and something occurred to me. My sisters had names like Patricia and Jacqueline. My brother's had biblical names, James and John. My name, Dion, is not biblical. Did she intend to name me Dion regardless?
April 22, 2015, the day of my first face to face pass in gender neutral clothes and no makeup. It may be months to the next one, but I'm good with that!

Being transgender is just a phase. It hardly ever starts before conception and always ends promptly at death.

haha, i was right: my name would have been john jr ("little john").  i asked my dad today.  i wonder what my brother's name would have been if i'd taken that one...

Jessica-Louise, the very name I'm using now. Mum would have called me that had... Things worked out differently.
