It depends on the person, but the forehead is a pretty significant gender recognition marker, but if everything else is on point (e.g., hair, body, voice, mannerisms, walk, etc.) you can tip the scales in your favor.

What you think is more important
the forehead or the jawline and chin in gender recognition of the person

Probably the forehead; it's a very strong indicator, but it really depends on brow bossing, the slope gradient, width, vertical height, hairline, the nasal radix when viewed from the profile, position of the brows, and the eyes.  So there are a lot of factors involved in gender recognition (not just the forehead, but the whole face, but from what I've read the forehead is the most significant indicator), and in most cases it only takes nano seconds to decide male or female when we see someone, and if a decision was not 100% then we look for other cues and features to make a determination.

Some cis women have strong features in their forehead. I worry about mine at times, but everyone tells me it's fine.

This is mine - FrontSide

But then again.....

Chelsea Clinton has a strong features in her forehead

With this and being over 6'5" I haven't been mis-gendered is nearly 3 years, but sometimes I wonder if my forehead clocks me. My voice, mannerisms and everything else seem fine so maybe that's why.

My forehead looks a bit like Chelsea's, she has better eye brows though.
I have very thick long bangs to cover it. It works great and I love the look of full thick bangs!

In short: no, not necessary.

You can always work with hair and makeup tricks first if you are really feeling upset about your brow--much less expensive than surgery. I would do a quick search for "mtf contouring makeup tutorial" and watch a few videos. The contouring makeup is really quite amazing.

Also, you should start looking at women's brow ridges when you're out in public. Once you start paying attention to women out in the world, you may notice that many more women have strong brow ridges than you had thought.

If u have the desire to seamlessly blend into the society in all shapes and forms, feminine forehead contour is very important. Feminine forehead changes the look of the eye and can balance other masculine features.

Also, in most cases Browbone on cis woman looks very different than that on transwoman.

This is true for north European and Asian women. But not so much for Mideast or African women.

Never really analyzed much of mid eastern women's facial features, but have of African American/Ethiopian women. I thought they in most cases have no Browbone and beautiful round foreheads and thus really big prominent eyes.

Thats why you see so many trans woman  having bangs hiding forehead.   It is important if you want to be able to tie your hairs back and show your forehead

My forehead is definitely feminine barely any browbone showing but not rounded
That why I'm asking
I noticed not all the ffs surgeons give you the completely round forehead

But I don't see it as flattering look tbh i was just wondering if the forehead is important more than chin or jaw line

But is there difference methods of contouring the forehead that gives rounded look or super flat look ?

Type 3 forehead surgery which involves removing the bone covering the frontal sinus, then cutting it into sections, burring the sections of bone from behind (closest side to the sinus), then reassembling everything back into one piece and placing it back in the forehead allows the surgeon to set back the forehead and achieve a rounder flatter look. From what I have read and from what a surgeon told me, the type of forehead reconstruction you need is dependent on the thickness of your bone; if your bone is thick enough then the surgeon may only need to do a type 1 or type 2 forehead reconstruction which is just burring and maybe adding some bone paste to round everything out, but if your bone is not thick enough then type 3 has to be done because burring the sinus bone from the front could make it too thin and there could be a lot of complications.

Maybe if you post pics it would help more? But just as feminine forehead comes in all forms, so do masculine ones.

Below link shows forehead feminization on masculine foreheads that didn't have much Browbone. Not saying one approach is better than the other, it depends on what is needed. Maybe you don't need any.

Hey Rose,

I think it depends on how prominent your jaw and chin are as well as whether you have brow bossing and what type of hair line you have?

Now i had extremely bad bossing and my forehead was like a slope going backwards and now it is completely rounded with an even hairline because he had to take the bone out i think and reshape it and he did transplant too. But as you say your forehead isnt too bad maybe the doc will just advise a little brow lift or hair line advancement.

In my opinion and from personal experience the forehead contour is extremely important, i think much more than the chin and the jaw. But at the end of the day it comes down to personal preference.  ;D

Hi Rose,

I agree with Bubbles21. I had the same procedure done and that alone, IMO, has made my face more feminine. I did not do Rhino or any other procedures yet and am able to pass mostly. Of course, other procedures would definitely help, in my case though, I feel forehead contouring was the most important one, as it mostly involved hairline lowering, brow lift and bone shaving.
Hugs,

Yashika

Hi yashika

I really love your result

Does brow lift come along with the bone shaving and hairline lowering or I have to ask for it ?

He did say in his email
forehead contouring - includes lowering of hair line with small session of HT

But he didn't mention brow lifting

I sued to think it wasn't a big deal but in the opinion of most experts it is the most feminising aspect of a face and if you can only afford one surgery then make it brow-bossing.
