Hey girls :)

I'm Josie and I've been doing a lot of reading on the forums.  I'm super excited cause tomorrow I have an appointment with my doctor to start my transition!

Anyway, I couldn't find a thread about Trans friendly jobs.  I currently work at a restaurant and would prefer to either work at one where there are more people like me, or gay, I don't know.

I definitely don't feel comfortable telling the people at my current location, so worst case scenario is I get a transfer to another location as soon as I start HRT, which is fine, cause I can work during the day, and make more money.

But, I would preferably want to go somewhere there are more, for a lack of better words, queer folk lol.

Is their a site for finding Trans friendly jobs?
Does anyone know somewhere I can go?

I live in NJ, very close to Timesquare NY.

You might try a modest hotel restaurant...my wife worked at a Doubletree restaurant several years ago and there were several gays there.  It was connected to the civic center. Just a thought.

Are there any LGBTQ friendly Bars?  How about a cafeteria/restaurant in a medical facility or a college/university?

Actually any job on a university/college campus would work.  There are rankings on friendly LGBTQ companies.  Do a Google search and start looking what positions they have available.

If you are interested in banking and live on the east coast, I would definitely suggest checking out TD Bank.  I currently work there and they are above and beyond when it comes to diversity and acceptance.  They actually are hosting a live chat right now regarding International Transgender Day of Visibility.
