Hello everyone it has been awhile as the last time I posted I was been sorting out education and transitioning related things.

Since last year October, I worked on apply to Universities overseas in the UK, and also getting the ball rolling on taking care of my mental health, working through issues and how to deal with family.

Now this year things are slowly moving forward and taking shape in ways I haven't expected. I got my first job in January, and was given an unconditional offer to college. With the money I earned, I was able to purchase the few items needed for college, and I was working with my therapist to get the ball rolling on transitioning. I came out to my PCP who was cool about it, and was able to get things rolling to in terms of vaccines before travel, and now it's getting closer to time where I can get surgery and start hormones.

All throughout the process I've dealt with what I now understand as disphoria, as i had not ever put two and two together. I've been using mindfulness tactices to help me stay as calm and centered as possible so that I can continue to make the best choices I'm able to make for my life going forward.

My family is apathetic about my transition, but due our history, I'm not really surprised, but they have been neutral in their old tactics from my youth. I've been learning how to place subtle but appropriate boundaries with them and it has not been easy. But as I help care for them, I have start taking care of myself as my needs have been on the backburner for much too long. That is changing this year.

At minimum, I'm going to change my name, get chest surgery and hormones. But if there is enough time, I will get a partial hyster. As long as my name and chest are done, I can slowly start fresh when I arrive to school later in the year.

I just wanted to stop and give an update to any who have remembered me. Take care, and catch you all again a few down the line!
What do the eyes say when you look into them? What do you see?

Hi I'm Jeanette, I'm new enough here that I have seen your previous posts.
I want to say congratulations on your progress on so many fronts. Dealing with family not the least of them. Nor is coming to terms with yourself and your needs. To me that would be paramount to your health and well being. Good for you on that and on moving toward what you need.

  Hugs,
    Jeanette
