I correct people more and more when it happens but try to do it in a nice way. When people are obviously being rude my response is usually different.

At the start of my transition I was misgendered from time to time.  Today, 3 years later, I'm never misgendered.  It was upsetting to be misgendered, but I can't blame people for making a mistake.  There was too much male showing back then.  Being misgendered just made me work harder to get my presentation right.  I would let it slide most of the time because usually the person was someone I'd never met before.  Correcting them only makes them feel bad through no fault of their own.  People who knew me didn't get off so easy.

I have not been missgendered in a very long time, why all of a sudden is this happening now?

If it just happens once in a while why stress it?  When it happens, try to focus on all the times you are gendered correctly.  If you get correctly gendered 10 times and misgendered once why make it a big deal out of it in your own mind?  Focus on that giddy feeling you get when you hear someone call you ma'am or she  or her.  Just ignore the bad.

I've been "sirred" while in full female dress and makeup,

This definitely sounds like someone is just being nasty.  I would seriously doubt anyone would be that oblivious.  They've made a conscious decision to misgender you.

Take care,
Paige :)

Being misgendered is one of my peeves.  For real, it sets me off inside.  It can crush my day.  It shouldn't, but it does.  I will say that it does not happen hardly at all anymore, but when it does ...even if a genuine mistake...it really bothers me.

I wear dresses/skirts daily for work.  I work in a professional office building....it just fits to wear that type of thing daily.  My face doesn't read girl, to me.  I mean if I shaved my head I don't think someone would look at a head picture of me, without makeup, and say "woman".  The vast majority of women I know could shave their head and still be gendered female.  So, long hair, attire, demeanor, vocabulary, posture, boobs, and voice go a LONG way to avoid being misgendered for me.
Some people say I'm apathetic, but I don't care.
