I'm really quite confused by what's happening to me. I've always identified as, and been comfortable being, a heterosexual female. All my romantic and sexual relationships have been with men. Then 3 years ago I met a man , we became very close very quickly, we just seem to understand each other like no one else ever has. The thing is, in this relationship, we both take on 'opposite' gender roles. Not just in the bedroom but whenever we're alone together. We have new names for each other (which only we use), call each other husband and wife (me being the husband) and both feel very happy and natural with all this. Neither of us has had this happen before - both of us are in our 40s, been married, had kids etc. Neither of us feels any desire to transition or uncomfortable in the bodies we were born with. As a child I preferred to play with the boys, and most of my close friends are male but everyone sees me as a very feminine person. My partner has felt 'different' for a long time but couldn't pinpoint in what way. Has anyone else had this kind of 'BOOM' experience where suddenly everything changed?
