future Appearance? Is it realistic?

Hey
I'm near to restart my transition soon, and I found this ,,faceapp" some day's ago... Since I'm working on my body (lost 8kg in the last 8weeks), started my voice therapy in January this year, and continue my laser-hair-removal I always wondered, how could I look someday... last year, when I started HRT for a short time, a had the feeling that it did wonder after some weeks... unfortunately I lost all the progress in my face very soon after I stopped HRT.

I know, no one can tell me "you will look like this!", but a lot of you have a lot of experience about effects of hrt or ffs and so on... so I'm wondering...could this be a possible future Appearance of me? I don't know if I sould cry or laugh when I see the pictures... both because I'would be so happy if...

Thanks,
Eleonore

Hi Eleonore,
It looks like you're young (aka potentially greater cross hormonal effect) and you seem to have favorable feminine features (in my mind), so I can't see why those app pics would be very wide off the mark.
LOL, I've been fiddling with the same app in the last few days, and it has brought me so much mixed feelings. So I can imagine your hope, wishes, and fears. Sigh.
In any case, I wish for you to be happier than you ever imagined in those pics... And for real life to far exceed just the photo value!

I think it's realistic structurally, but I can't about looking younger (cause in the after you look like 22, and before like 28). I guess maybe with Retin-A, sleep, and little botox that could be achievable too.

Good app.

It is achievable if you take your hormone dose regularly at Right level and that you are willing to pay for surgeries( FFS) and procedures such as Botox and juvederm . Hrt is doing subtle changes only keep that in mind  .

I actually tried this app with a before picture and I look better now then what the app predicted. I am post everything

I can see it. My crystal ball is saying that you're going to be very very close to that.

Does anyone have a good outline on how this program achieves the changes?  I've also used this app and I find the differences quite interesting, but difficult to pinpoint all the modifications.

- brow thinning
- skin shading
- cheek roundness
- lighting around eyes to simulate brow boss shaving

Some are more subtle but really makes a difference to the overall impression

One thing I noticed just looking at them quickly is that it seems to have changed your eye shape a bit.  I don't know how likely that is.  Overall I can see the connection between the two pictures which leads me to believe it's probably somewhat realistic although it might require some surgical intervention to get some of those results.  Hard to really say for sure but those were my thoughts.

I am going to give you my brutal honest opinion.  I think those pictures look too good to be true.  However, I do think perhaps you will end up about 50% between those two.  And I'm hoping I'm wrong and you get 100% there.  I'm afraid to use this app because I don't want to set myself up for disappointment.  Good luck :)

I also agree with AlyssaJ. The software changes eye shape, nostrils and hyper feminises cheeks. I've been recently looking at passing natal women of various ages, and there is a huge range in cheeks. So as usual, YMMV and it depends on so many factors.
One of my girlfriends said she hates these kind of apps because they can possibly instill a false sense of what the outcome might be from (holistically) transitioning.
I confess that I couldn't stop looking at my app pic for days, because I could see myself visually as a reflection of what's inside. But I really really tried hard to keep it in context - IT'S A FUN APP, AND NOT HOW ONE MAY LOOK IN THE FUTURE. I know what the initial post was about, and I fully support that question and where you're going with that Eleonore. But we should all be aware of the double edged sword that this app can be.
Lots of love to everyone, Evelyn

Wow.  That's powerful juju.  I hope I end up looking this good!

I've played around with FaceApp when I found out about it, it never seems to get my hair right and the picture comes out terrible haha, it does also scare me a bit, once got a somewhat decent picture, clicked the female option and was like "holy crap!", makes me somewhat dysphoric and sad too tho.

Amanda_Combs

The general rule of thumb I've heard is that a pretty "guy" usually can transition into a pretty lady and vice versa.  I agree with that sentiment pretty strongly.  So I would recommend you stay optimistic about your outcome! [emoji16]

I would like to ask a slight variation of this question.  Are there any changes in my photos that seem like they could be realistically achieved?

FaceApp has consumed me the past week and has made my dysporia absolutely ridiculous and made me regret never coming out because, damn!! :(

Hi Feeltrapped

Its horrible when you have something like that triggering your Dysphoria. Don't let this app con you into thinking that it is showing a realistic female/male version of yourself. In that respect it is quite cruel...If you look careful at the photo's the filters do things that no surgeon nor HRT could. I understand the regret of lost time however you can change that if you want...I hope you start to feel a bit better and I would encourage you to not place too much emphasis on how you may look when you photo is run through a series of filters....you may look way better or totally different to what the app is showing you if you were to embark on HRT and surgeries. I hope you are feeling better soon.

Take care

Liz

No no I know how the app works, was just implying i wish that when o took a selfie, it was  a female looking back. Just the fact that the face looking back had some of the same features really hit close to home with all the what ifs, if that makes sense. Kind of like when I see a girl walking down the road in black tights, knee high brown leather boots and a peplum top i get a crazy surge of "oh my god why not me!!!!".... like really... even doing the stuff I love doing that would not be concidered feminine, even though a lot of girls do it, doesn't distract me from the feelings anymore... like seriously, should shooting targets at 1000 yards or stalking game really trigger you and make you be like, "I really wish I had to figure out how to do this laying prone with breasts" or "this breeze would probably feel amazing blowing a pony tail around"... not typical triggers, used to be my coiling method... now nope... just brings them on and brings em on bad

Hi FeelTrapped

Sorry I got the wrong end of the stick :icon_doh:...I understand what you mean now.  I went back and read your earlier posts and understand your situation a bit better.

Being in the situation you are, being reminded of what might have been or maybe could be, is hard to take and for me I found these kinds of triggering events had a negative cumulative effect and each time it happened it felt like a bit more of a body blow. Each time it became a little more difficult to bounce back.

I can remember getting to the point where I had no choice but to deal with my issues as all sorts of silly things were triggering my GD...it was like overload. I think one of the worst rabbit holes we can chase down is the "What if.." hole which is very deep. The problem is there are no answers at the bottom of that hole only despair. Sometimes you have to do what's best for you, in order to do the best by your family.

Take care

Liz
