Hello quick question how many of you folks are doing informed consent at a doctor or clinic in your area?

I go to a community health clinic that uses the informed consent model.

Fenway Health LGBT Clinic, informed consent. Twenty minutes start to finish.

Yes I do (Callen-Lorde, NYC). Even though my therapist would have written me a letter, she recommended them as they are close and at the time (over 3½ years ago) had the best (and still one of the best) transgender care in the area. I'm also on their Patient Advisory Council to help give back to the community.

I have to fill one out at my first visiting.

I started with an informed consent clinic, but that doesn't really count since I voluntarily followed the WPATH guidlines even before I went there.  My clinic denied me treatment on religious grounds, even tho I told them I could produce a letter. So at the time the informed consent clinic was where I could access transgender care.   I don't see view it as gatekeeping. Seems more like common sense to me.

Yes! Though I did see several therapists and support groups prior to making my decision.

Another Howard Brown Health Clinic girl here. From the start of HRT through SRS. They provided name and gender change letters and names of therapists that would provide SRS letters. They are great to work with.

Count me on the HBHC train.

HBHC in Chicago. They have several clinics around the city, all informed consent.

They gave me a list of several therapists that were known to work with the transgender community and provide SRS letters. I called a few and found 2 that would do interviews over Skyp. Both wrote my SRS letters after one interview.

I am debating contacting Chase Braxton or Whitman Walker.  Chase is closer, but I have heard some things about Chase.  There is also a doc near me that JHU refers patients to whom I am considering.  What was your experience with Whitman?

Whitman Walker Health has been simply superb.  I initially went with them because I could get an appointment without delay (by going to their Max Robinson Center, in SW Washington DC).  It would have taken about 90 days to get an appointment at Chase Brexton.  I am so impressed by the quality of care at WW.  I can really recommend them.  I would be very interested in knowing more about Chase Brexton, though - as well as the new transgender care center at Johns Hopkins Hospital.  Options are always good to have!

My Therapist used to work at Whitman Walker... now in private practice.

I had considered WW too but ended getting a letter and chose a doctor a few miles closer.  If I would have not gotten a letter, I would have gone the informed consent route at WW...

I have some hopes for Johns Hopkins. This area is really missing a gut place for surgery and somehow I would prefer a place close by to avoid travel...

Informed consent at Mednorth Healthcenter in Wilmington NC by recommendation from my therapist.
