Okay, a few days back.. Well okay about a week now I came clean with my mom.
She never blew her top till' about the next day, but you know that gut feeling you get when people are not willing to help you? But you need answers.

I came on the computer and happened to find this forum while "Googling" stuff.
So now I'm asking you people for help.
I have a few questions that I would like someone to help me with, if you guys could that would be awesome.

1#     I'm in this on my own got any advice?
2#     To put it bluntly, I need some T but I have no idea where you could get some. Where do I, or what do I have to do to get my hands on the stuff?
3#     I feel like I need to talk to someone about this, who should I turn too?

Cheers, I guess..

Welcome to Susans.

This is a good site to find all types of information.

As for how to start, see a gender therapist.  They will send you to a endocronoligist (or however it is spelled) for a prescription for T.

To get Testosterone, you will need to go to a Therapist, Try and find one that specializes in Gender Theraphy, You will need to visit with them most likely once a month minimum, for minimum 3 months, before they will write a reccomendation letter for you to see a Endocroligist who will do blood work with you to determine whether or not you are healthy enough to get the T,

Most likely your therapist will want to see you for around 6 months before they will write the rec letter, and thats assuming that you have no other major issues to work out prior, Some therapists have other reqs before that letter though.. as well.

Good luck

Oh and for your mother, honestly I can offer no advice, I am in a situation with my Girlfriend right now, and lets just say things arent pretty and peachy, as far as I can tell it takes alot, alot of time, let them get "it" at their own pace, try not to force it upon them.  It is really hard for someone who raised you and only saw you one way for a long time to have to look at you another way, they have to learn to reaccept you, re love you, and get over the fact that in many ways they feel their child "died", and then a new child was adopted.

Take care

If your in this on your own, make sure you have sufficient funds.  This process tends to be money consuming and depressing when you look at all the checks you write for stuff :P

Either way, a good start would be to see a gender therapist like already stated, then they'll write you a letter to go see an endo.  Already said by Sarah of course, so just repeating information so you can read it over two times.

Good luck with everything, and I hope your mom comes around with time.  My parents have been supportive this whole time, but they still in no way understand this.  It's something people gain knowledge at on their own pace.  Denial anger guilt and all those stuff are the first feelings to always be seen by someone.  I know my parents experienced all them, but they're trying to understand better.  Give it time, she'll come around when she realizes what's really going on.

For answers to 1, e and 3, gender therapist, as the others said. As for being in it on your own, no you're not. I'm in a small town, but got internet access. You can get advice and support here, and Susan's is one of the best places around for it.

First step is therapy. You might not need much, you might need a lot, but growing up with the wrong body does take its toll on all of us. And therapy can also help you explore what you need, what pace is appropriate for you, and where to get it. My therapist's information was a bit outdated and my doctor didn't know where to turn, so I often have to resort to email contacts and people I've met on the net to find specific resources, but the path is fairly common - gender therapist, then get baseline levels checked by endo, then prescription for T with monitoring to make sure your blood levels are ok.

Ask away, young man (or old man, as the case may be) and we will answer :)

T can be injected, delivered in a transdermal patch, applied in a gel, taken orally...Injection is most common though, I believe. But you need to see an endocrinologist to get on T. Some endos will also want a letter from your psychologist, confirming that you have GID and are beginning to transition.

I am all alone in my transition as well. I have a psychologist, but that's it. When I started transitioning over a year ago, the first thing I did was experiment with ways to bind my chest, and started using Rogaine on my face to grow facial hair. I also started forcing my voice lower when I talk, and over time I've developed an adam's apple. So its possible that you can transition and pass 100% without the help of T immediately. I want to get on T asap, but its not possible for awhile.

Feel free to PM me if you need tips on passing until you can get on T, or if you wanna talk or whatever. Good luck man.

I think you can get a referral from your doctor if you're in the UK, there are various gender clinics around and the wait time varies.

Oh yeah, my boyfriend is from the UK. He has to pay for his gender therapist though...its not paid for by the NHS. I think he gets his hormones free though.

How do you find a local clinic, would you just google it?
