Hi everyone my name is iesha I'm from Philadelphia and looking to soon get my srs I looking for advice on kathy rumor since she's the only Dr in pa who performs srs  surgery I heard both good and bad about her work can anyone help me with info on her I'm both  nervous and scared  about the reviews

Thank you so much I'll be looking into her reviews I've heard a lot about her after care and some revisions however although she has a few bad reviews I hear so much good about in the trans conferences

Why do you want to choose her? Insurance?

Hi Iesha,

There is also Dr. Christine McGinn is in New Hope, PA and Dr. Sherman Leis in Bala Cynwyd, PA. You should at least consult with them, if location is your prime concern.  If your prime consideration is "soon", then McGinn might be out. I know Dr. McGinn's waiting list is at least a year.  Not sure about Dr. Leis.

Thanks guys I have insurance which is keystone first that's why I choose Dr rumor alot of doctors dont take insurance plus I hear a lot of good things about her  she big in the Philadelphia trans community

ALL surgeons will have both positive and negative things and good and bad reviews. 

There is inevitably always something
a person will complain about that they arent happy about.

overall Rumer gets a 95/100 from me.

I deducted a point for bed side manners (didnt come see me in the hospital after the surgery) but made up for it at her recovery facility.

3 points deducted for pain management (morphine did nothing for me, but I did get dilaudid)

1 point for a cold room at her recovery facility.

everything else was top notch care.

I have a friend who had bottom surgery with Rumer a few weeks ago, I didn't hear anything negative.  As others here have stated, you can also go with Mcginn (I vouch as a previous patient) and Leis (heard iffy things) in the Philly area.
